I don't think Ncc fans are going to complain. They're just happy to have a home. Although Ncc should fork over some money for repairs, its really not their problem. Newport should make the repairs in a timely fashion.

 

Do you often fork over money to make repairs on property that you rent?

I thought I heard earlier this year that the fairly new Turf at Newport Stadium has to be replaced. Is this true? Something about a few years back, water from a backed up Creek/River took it over for a few days and they have had an issue with Sanitizing it since.....I do now that back in the day when I was young the Ohio would once in a while back up and take the field. If this is the case, who in their right mind would ever consider taking this field over and investing money in something that at the end of the day is in the Floodplain.:idunno:

If you were a player/fan of Dayton or Bellevue, would you rather play in your old stadium/locker room, etc on grass or move to a renovated Newport stadium?

 

I can answer that one for you. They would rather play in their own stadium. History. Pride. All that jazz.... In the case of Dayton, granted I haven't been up there in a couple years, but it seems as if the field is top notch in terms of grass fields these days. Holds water well. Doesn't wear too much. It's just the concrete facility around it needs improvement.

The older grass stadiums are unfortunately becoming a thing of the past. Dayton, Bellevue, Ludlow have character and provide more of a true home "field" advantage. I guess Holmes is looking to replace their grass field......have not heard anything about Lloyd or Boone Co which are also older grass fields.

I noticed that the SK game vs Holy Cross is at Scott HS. Is Holy Cross playing all their home games at HC? Are they not using Holmes field any more? Maybe NCC needs to consider some of the other proximate venues.

I don't think NCC has any problem with Newport Stadium and there are no other turf fields that are close that could be used. If Newport is home on Friday, NCC can use the field Saturday if they are also at home. And the district game between the two is always a Home game for Newport.

Is it?? I know Scott, Dixie, South Kenton and Ryle are all newer. That leaves Highlands, Cov Cath, and Beechwood. Not sure when they were installed, but just based on appearances, Beechwood's turf looks newer. I was under the impression that Newport's turf is one of the oldest.
