You don't know his view, you don't know what he was doing before he came on camera... This opinion isn't going to be popular, I'm sure...but the kid wouldn't be dead if he didn't make a stupid decision. Getting out was dumb enough but walking in front of a moving sprintcar is about as stupid as it gets.

I know he's got plenty of room. I know he revved his motor to enough RPM to get the back loose. None of us know what really happened, but to assume Stewart was remotely unaware of the kid on the track I can't buy.

I know he wasn't driving by him to say nice spin out.

August 11, 201412 yr Sad situation all the way around. Even if Stewart is absolved of criminal culpability, as others have said, he's gonna be a tough sell for sponsors for a long, long time.

If there were conclusive proof that TS intended to hit him or even intended to drive at him to scare him it's Kosher because Ward made the first bad decision? I don't think we would apply that logic to anything else.

I don't think we would apply that logic to anything else. If ...... You are putting hypotheticals into the situation, not the facts. From the video, it is very difficult to tell that Stewart intentionally tried to hit him. However, for me to blame Stewart, I would need to see Ward standing by his car (not running down the track) and Stewart swerve up the track at Ward. Ward was the one who charged at Stewart much more clearly than Stewart steering his car toward Ward.
