The car in front of TS had no problem seeing and avoiding the kid, TS could and should have done the same. Something else that hasn't been brought up is the fact the race was under caution so the cars were going slower and makes it easier to see and avoid anything on the track.

 

Last question I have is to Tony is why did you accelerate as you drive up on him? To me it points to he wanted to scare the kid and intimidate him.

 

The kid was at fault and as I said from the beginning I think fault also goes to TS.

I can't help but wonder what happens if Tony just hit his brakes and stopped?

No offense but you have no clue what TS was doing. There is absolutely no way you can be certain based on what we've seen now and know now.

 

And every dirt track driver I've talked to says they are Todd not to exit their car unless it's on fire. Any track that tells you to exit and get to the infield us opening up some major risks if cars are still going around the track, caution or not.

I agree that I have no idea what goes on in Tony Stewarts pea brain.

I can say that I (and many others) have seen Tony pull this same type of crap more times than I can remember.

Stewart has been a whining, arrogant, dangerous driver since he was a teenager (plenty of proof to back that up on the interweb ... ) the move on Saturday night is a small slice into his mind.

 

As far as the rest ... we can agree to disagree ... (pretty sure that I have done it myself a time or two). Count me as one guy who isn't going to sit in a sprint car and wait for a fire (especially after the caution was already thrown) before I get out. In this case the caution was out ... the yellow lights were on ... and it was pretty freaking obvious that everyone had already slowed down to honor the caution.

 

Either way ... great conversation all the way around ... never thought I would see over 150 posts in the Auto Racing forum.

I feel extremely confident in saying that Stewart hit the gas to help his car turn ... sprint cars are usually extremely tight ... with rear wheel drive. So he most likely turned the wheel .. then you pop the gas to complete the turn.

The kid was pointing at him, he wanted to scare him,maybe throw dirt on him and the worse happened.

Should Tony be charged with vehicular manslaughter? Still need to hear more from other drivers,people close to the scene,maybe a different camera angle. He didn't mean to kill him, but he did. Just like any road rage incident on the everyday road you have to ignore being flipped off,cut off,etc. or things snowball. There's a world of people in jail that didn't mean to hurt or kill someone. Only two people really know what happened and that is Tony and his maker

Couldn't disagree more about if the roles were reversed. And nothing is clear in this. In your opinion TS played a major role. Thank God people aren't arrested on someone's opinion.

Which is why people shouldn't make definitive statements. No offense to HB, but he's so confident TS is guilty and didn't have a clue, apparently, that accelerating could have been him steering away...
