August 13, 201412 yr Author If Stewart is found negligent, is his career done? Even if he is found to be completely in the clear, what does this do to his career? Could NASCAR ask him to quit? Will his sponsors continue monetary support? Does Haas split? All great questions. I'm guessing stay tuned is all that can be said so far. IMO I'm not sure if he'll be able to recover. A lot depends on how he is treated by Nascar and his fellow drivers.

August 14, 201412 yr Here is how I think it will happen: 1. Stewart will not be charged with anything(nothing to prove he intentionally did anything unless he told Sheriff I tried to buzz him) 2. He will wait until he is officially cleared to race Nascar 3. His fans will still love him and the other ones will still hate him 4. NASCAR will ask him not to race outside of cup/nationwide 5. He will get get a civil lawsuit 6. His sponsors/nascar will pressure to settle quickly 7. He will lose at least one major sponsor

He actually tweeted it's better to be silent and considered a fool then to open your mouth and remove the doubt. He was then asked about his opinion and said how could be have an opinion, he wasn't there and didn't witness it.

If I were Tony Stewart, by now, and probably very soon after the incident, I would have reached out to the Ward family and told them how sorry I was that this happened, that it was an accident, assured them there was no intent on my part that I just couldn't avoid him, etc.
