August 18, 201412 yr Sure has gotten quiet in regards to some of the most vocal anti-officer folks now that more of the story is coming out... Not that I'm surprised. Anyone who honestly thought the officer executed him in the street has been watching too many movies... So Brown was 6'4 290? Will anyone's stance change of said officer was 5'6 150?
August 18, 201412 yr I can understand the argument that the police should not have released the video of the robbery. What I don't understand is the comments that the robbery had nothing to do with the shooting. Less than 20 minutes after allegedly robbing a convenience store, Michael Brown was shot by a police officer and his friend, who was apparently with him during the robbery became the primary witness to the shooting. The robbery is potentially connected to the shooting incident in at least two ways. 1. Michael Brown had no way of knowing whether Officer Wilson stopped him because he suspected that Brown had just robbed the store. Whatever Brown's reaction to Officer Wilson was, it may very well have been influenced by Brown's fear of being arrested for a crime with the stolen cigars on his person. 2. The credibility of an eyewitness to the shooting, who gave a very inflammatory account of the shooting, is dubious because he was present at, if not a participant in, a robbery just minutes before. Had the robbery taken two years earlier, then I would agree that it had nothing to do with the recent shooting - but anything as serious as the victim committing a robbery just 16 minutes earlier almost certainly affected the state of mine of both Brown and the main witness to the shooting. What does the police incident report say? What did the officer say when he stopped the two? Did he say "why are you walking in the road/get out of the road" or did he say something vague? If he said the former then the potential reaction you describe wouldn't seem to make sense. If he was vague as in "what are you guys doing" then maybe that's plausible.

I've been more upset with the handling of the press/protesters afterwards than I have been about the shooting. I simply didn't trust his friend's testimony from the get go. However, if the officer turns out to be that small it is going to make that shot to the top of the head that went down to his collarbone a little hard to explain. Charging or not a 6'4" guy would have to be almost on the ground to be shot at that angle from someone of average/less than average height.

August 18, 201412 yr Kid could have been falling after a previous shot. Incredible timing, especially after a previous headshot.
August 18, 201412 yr Friend of Officer Wilson gives officer's account. Interesting that the friend says the officer was aware of Brown's robbery. Chief said otherwise. Darren Wilson's Story | Josie | Ferguson | Michael Brown | Mediaite
August 18, 201412 yr Incredible timing' date=' especially after a previous headshot.[/quote'] Stranger things have happened....
August 18, 201412 yr Incredible timing, especially after a previous headshot. Not if he's just squeezing rounds off to get him to stop.

His state of mind at the time of the confrontation is relevant, and if he robbed a store 16 minutes earlier and had a physical confrontation with the store manager, then that is certainly information that will be used if this case goes to trial. The fact that one of the potential prosecution witnesses was also present at the scene of the robbery would almost certainly be used by the defense to impeach his testimony. Maybe Officer Wilson was unaware of the robbery, but Brown and the witness certainly were.

Darren Wilson's Story | Josie | Ferguson | Michael Brown | Mediaite That also says that the final shot was the one to the forehead so he'd have had to have shot him in the top of the head earlier if her account is to be believed. If that's the case he couldn't have been falling when shot in the top of the head.
August 18, 201412 yr Incredible timing, especially after a previous headshot. Not at all. Officer Wilson shot at least 6 six times. I would guess those six shots were fired in the matter of a few seconds. The first 4 strike Brown in the arm/shoulder, he starts to stumble and fall forward at the same time 2 more shots are fired, one strikes his face/eye, the last in the top of the head.
August 18, 201412 yr Brown was not interviewed for the police report. Thank you for that info. Maybe Officer Wilson was unaware of the robbery, but Brown and the witness certainly were. Again, it depends on how the officer approached him as to whether the scenario you present is likely. Brown LIKELY wouldn't be confrontational if the officer told him to get out of the street. Not saying he couldn't have been but unlikely...since we're just throwing out theories.

August 18, 201412 yr But the lady that was giving Wilson's account says that the shot in the forehead/eye was the last shot. She said the shot to the forehead was the last not the forehead/eye. The forehead could easily be shot higher up on the head. Forehead can be subjective where it starts and stops.

We are throwing out theories but as I understand it, the Chief of Police has already said that Officer Wilson claims that Brown assaulted him. We both know that strong-arming a store clerk 16 minutes earlier will be an issue if the case goes to court. While we are speculating, what are the chances that a young man not high on drugs or alcohol would be drawing attention to himself minutes after robbing a store by walking in the middle of the street instead of the sidewalk? BTW, you ignored my point about the primary witness to the shooting having been at the scene of a robbery with Brown 16 minutes earlier. If this case goes to trial, the store robbery will be an issue. You can mark that down.
