Thank you - agreed and long term I do believe my original statement will be confirmed. That is no disrespect to Abby she was a great player and did some great things and I wish her all the best as she continues her career in College.

They are different players and I'm comparing an incoming freshman to a proven graduate so it maybe a reach but it's also my opinion as Niece can do all the things and more offensively that Abby could do in a bigger package and she is a freshman (upside). I also believe that the SK coaching staff will be able to scheme defensively with Niece to offset her weakness on that end where Abby was superior. This is why I believe it's an upgrade for SK no emotion or over reaction. I will be happy to adjust my comments at the end of the season and re examine them again after the 2018 season.

 

Sounds like you understand what I was saying.... My comments and disagreement were based ONLY on what was presented as an "instant" upgrade. You will find no argument from me against the case for her as a "potential/upside" or "will become" upgrade. The good news is that no one will have to remember to give me an I told you so in 2018. I have zero problem with saying the sky is the limit for the young lady...and as I would with any person chasing their dreams, I hope they are able to see them come about.

 

I think if your original post was more like the one above, I don't over react myself. This post alludes to potential and upside, that I can agree with. Again, I only disagreed with your original presentation that strongly came across as "instant", "today" from day one overall upgrade. This young lady has all kinds of upside for sure, but that does not eliminate the need for "seasoning", development and improving other parts of her game. I just don't think its all developed far enough yet to say she is already an overall upgrade on the floor over Owens, which is how your original post came across...and of course, is why I disagreed.

 

And BTW, I apologize for accusing you of pride and disrespect. No need to do that. I made my point, but went too far.

Ok. I will leave this thread. Just trying to say these are kids and they all have faults and strong points. Have a great year this year at Highlands. You have two really good coaches.

Wow! Aren't you a peach!!! And you represent this AAU org??? Hmmm...makes me wonder....I too ran an AAU for about 8 years and I would never do anything like this. Not good for business my friend! You are already leaving some with a bad taste in their mouth about your org, now this!

 

I will refrain from answering way I would if we were face to face because I would hurt your and the little girls feeling. But I assume you are addressing my daughter and her ability in your post. Not good my man. Not good. You will not have at least one guy that knows a lot of basketball players not talking up you org any longer. I know that may not scare you. But in my book my man, you are the lowest of the lowest. You want to disrespect my daughter, then come see me and tell me face to face your opinion. Almost everyone on here knows me and knows I would say the same thing to that player and that players dad. I doubt you would tell me face to face what you mean by that ridiculous comment.

 

And for the record, my daughter no longer focuses on bball. She will be attending college on a softball scholarship. So it wouldn't have meant a thing if she came to HHS. She would have been treated like any other player and have to earn her spot. And guess what...you apparently don't know me well enough, because if she were to beat out my daughter, I would look my daughter in the eye and tell her "you better work harder". And if you don't believe that, then ask your buddies at HHS.

 

I said that I forgot to mention that HHS has a great softball coach in jest. Because you said (and thought I didn't know), that you feel sorry for Bert and Jaime. (insinuating I was just a goofy parent). Well I was letting you know that I coach High School and that's no secret and I was surprised you didn't know that. Coached bball for 20 years, ran an AAU org for 8 years and now coach in high school. Not your normal parent.

 

I'm sorry I hurt your feelings telling the truth and others opinions on your new prize recruit. But I tell it like it is anytime I post. You don't have to agree, but you don't have to attack my kid either.

I joined this site to voice opinions, share information and gain the same. I'm hoping it can be fun. Can we put the neace thing to rest and move on ? I'm not a coach in high school do not run a AAU program and never played in the nba. But I surely love this game know a lot of girls that do too and work hard to be good at it and a lot of great parents and coaches. Next page please

Haven't seen Niece play in person but hear lots of good things, I have seen Abby play multiple times against great competition and not so good competition she brought very night every minute of the game she was one of my favorite players to watch on the court reminded me a lot of j.c Bradley from boone county a couple years back. Niece has some big shoes to fill with Abby gone but from what I hear she will have no problems with doing so in the years coming! Good luck to the Pioneers womens team this year!

I listened to the Tri State Internet Sports Radio NKY pregame show last night. Coach Stowers had Bosse (Senior) and Niece (Freshmen) on the show with him during their segment. I was surprised that the other Seniors Kelsey Schmiade and Kelsey Blau were not on the show also. Perhaps these two had something going on and were not able to attend.

TripleSevens,Not sure who all plays what sport at SK, but maybe they have been in volleyball and haven't made many practices yet if any. Would only be fitting to utilize the ones that have been at practices.

Ally Niece is a nice player. She will help SK this year for sure. With that being said SK has a lot of good players. Coach Stowers will have them getting after people on defense. The kids always play very hard for him.

While SK has experienced much JV success, there will be some players who have not played together a lot. While I believe SK will be very good by the end of the season, they may spend half the season finding themselves. I also would not be surprised if I was wrong and they were very strong right away.

If you want an honest answer and just my opinion??? SK has a way to have some of their stronger players "play down" from what I've seen...where other schools (not all) do not. I have no idea if anyone else feels that way, but my experience with my daughter coming up and the limited times I saw them, the seem to always have borderline kids play down. What do I mean about borderline kids...kids that get pretty much varsity time, but don't start. So technically they are okay to play JV or freshman and its totally up to the SK staff, but I just don't see other programs do it as much as SK. Nothing wrong with it, but it can contribute to success at those levels when others don't do it.

 

Now I haven't seen a ton of games, but it just feels like end of the season tournaments and big games, you always see kids that may not normally play that level...playing. They are certainly within the rules, but other schools don't typically decide who is playing based on who they are playing.

Yes, I've watched them. They did win a ton of games. As far as whether that success translates immediately and equally to the varsity level, I wouldn't guarantee it. Eventually, but not instantly. I think Coach Stowers would agree. Last night he was quoted as saying..."We had to replace the coke machine in the locker room with a similac machine." Thought is was funny, but it also shows where he stands.
