Understand...like it said, my opinion was based on limited times seeing them. Another situation was when this current class were freshman. Schmiade and two others were freshman that year. They had not played a minute of freshman basketball and were brought down to play in the freshman region. We ended up playing them in the finals and beat them, but just always thought it was odd to bring those kids down to take the place of the kids that had played there all year. No issues with it really other than one of the girls that used to play aau for me never played another minute of basketball for SK after that game. Coincidence, maybe. I don't know. She was a starter on that freshman team and was only an 8th grader at the time. But never played again.

The implication here is unacceptable. The defensive reactions from those of us in the SK community is something you have EARNED!

Knowing many of the girls and families from SK, and taking a look at their roster, I decided to take a stab at who their starting 5 might be. I have no idea, so I'm taking a stab at it....

1. Kendyl Gilliam

2. Allison Niece

3. Kelsey Schmiade

4. Maggi Bossi

5. Madison Meier

Possible off the bench???....Kelsey Blau, Grace Harney, Abby Jones, Emma Jones, Kayla Krohman

Any thoughts, corrections or additions??

I'd say that is very close. There will be some freshman and 8th grade contributors to Varsity as well.

Wow! You really have no idea what I'm talking about here do ya!

Let me explain it one more time.

This girl played AAU for me. I know her family and I coached her several years. As an 8th grader at Twenhofel, she played up on the SK freshman team. She was a starter on that team the entire year. I believe they were undefeated going into the freshman tournament. When the freshman tournament started, SK brought 3 starters down from the JV to participate in the Freshman tournament. Those kids had not played 1 minute on the freshman team all year. The girl I'm talking about was one that lost her starting spot on the undefeated freshman team. She never played bball for SK again. My only insinuation is...did she get a bad taste in her mouth from the movement of the players down that pushed her away from bball. My answer to that was "maybe or maybe not". Heck, if you asked her own parents, l think they would say it probably had something to do with it, but they aren't even sure. That's the ONLY thing I'm insinuating. Is that the implication you are saying is unacceptable??? Cause outside of that, I have no idea what you're talking about.

This girls is still a JR at SK.

Alright...all you guys finish up your popcorn...show's over!

I've already explained everything you are asking. I answered the question that was asked based on my perception of what I've seen. Admitting that it was limited. The question was wouldn't the freshman and JV success translate into immediate varsity success. Answer is not necessarily. And I gave the reasons why.

In the scenario I was most familiar with, I am described. In short, SK had nine players in the freshman team. For the freshman region that year, they brought down 3 other freshman girls that had started JV all year. The only freshman minutes they played all year were in the freshman region. When they brought those 3 kids down, they took the place of 3 other starters and the total on the team to 12.

Hhs on the other hand had 7 kids on the freshman team. They played with 6 a lot due to injuries and illness. They had an 8th grader playing varsity that year. They never once thought about bringing her down to help out the freshman team. Could have and would have very justifiable based on the numbers they had. But never did it. Even in the freshman tournament.

Two different examples and two different styles. To each their own. But again, if SK would have even won that tournament, it has no indication on how the varsity will be when not every school had all their kids playing down and they did. How does that not make sense? I'm not saying if it's right or wrong. I'm answering the question.

Could care less about anything else you're trying to sell or justify. And you talk about apples to apples...major league baseball and high school girls bball??? Really?? Let's start with one group gets paid to be told what to do and paid based on their performance and the org makes revenue based in the success of developing players. That's why they do it that way. So you're saying apply that to high school girls sports?? There are many more differences too, but wow! Like I said, to each their own. And you say "it works for SK". What has worked? Are they way more advanced than all the other programs around them?? You say it like they have a long history and tradition of winning championships. Am I missing something or are they on the same level of most schoolS of their scale and size?

All I did was answer the question. If you don't agree with the answer, I'm perfectly fine with it. And I never saw the apology come through yet! Must have got lost in cyberspace! It's obvious you just wanted to argue something with me. Because as soon as you figured out you were wrong on the first subject, you jump right to something different. Hilarious! I have a very good idea who this is and it doesn't surprise me at all. Have a great day.

You are really entertaining Rcc9. Just the length of this post demonstrates it is OK for you to express a view on a topic and IF/When someone deflects or indicates a flaw in your post they can expect a lengthy reply... Really so I will keep it short for you. First going to another aspect of a post would to another in the sports world indicate a acknowledgement of mistaken id. So I will send you an apology for mistaking the person you referred in the section of your post that did NOT address the original question does their success in the past three years indicate success. The answer was so simple . 1. Check this years roster . a) Names the same all three years if 90% of the roster is intact then YES it is PLAUSIBLE to equate some level of success to follow . If the roster is 90% different than the three previous seasons and the change is due in part to MULTIPLE reasons then NO the success is unsure. Apology for miss identifying an athlete.

Second ,you didn't get it on the Pro Baseball reference. It is the GLOBAL concept of it not the individual aspects of salaried athletes vs hs athletes. It was referencing the Mental application of that profession to think differently of player development. Again you perseverate on one aspect that cements your view and there is no reasoning or discussing the issue without a tongue lashing. Seriously the WOW's and sarcasm is not lost on your readers but considering all things you are quite entertaining.I have heard that form others that DO know you and no I do not think you know me!

Good try

Had an opportunity to watch Abby Owings play last night at Thomas More. They hosted Ohio Dominican for a scrimmage. Abby started at point guard and played very well. She really leaves it all on the court!

I know exactly who you are! But I will get in trouble for pointing it out. Would you like a PM?

You know, SK has some really nice football players this year. I think some of their offensive lineman are getting some looks. It would be great for them to get to play at the next level. What do you think? AND I know exactly who you are talking about that knows you and me! You know, we are putting in a workout and training program for our softball girls...I'm glad we have people to help us with that!

I'm smarter than you think!

Plenty of hints in there. I'm smarter than you think!

The jury is still out on that one. ;)

On second thought, perhaps there is a lot of genius, just cased inside a very hard shell (skull).

Great for Abby, and she always plays hard.
