Dick's Last Resort?

Featured Replies

Has anyone been to the Newport one? Is it in the same league for obnoxiousness as the ones in Myrtle Beach and Gatlinsburgh? Know a group of teenage girls(basketball team) going there Sunday afternoon with various parents. I warned them, don't know if Sunday afternoon will take it easy on them

Been there and it wasn't quite as funny as the one in Gatlinburg but then again it was only a couple days old when I went. They were funny though and still a good time. I'm sure they feel more comfortable now with the theme.

The kids should have fun.

Does the food still suck? Haven't been to a DLR in years, so I don't know.

I went to the one in Chicago a couple years ago. One time was enough.

I can be obnoxious with the best of them.

.....

Been to the one at the Levee twice, once with kids and once without. They were much more tame with kids at the table. Funny servers both times, and I'd give the food a notch above average. When it was just guys at lunch our hats they made were hilarious .... and oddly spot-on.

The one in Myrtle Beach was where they were dropping F-bombs, telling the girls they smelled like tuna, very, very crude. But it was a Friday Night and it was Myrtle Beach, so just wondering if Newport was at least PG-13?

Yes, Newports is deffinatly toned down for the kids.

Food is just meh...nothing special.

The wife and I went for my birthday in April because we had a $25 certificate (that my son had gotten the previous week because the service and food was so bad). Food was average at best, and drinks were expensive. We sat at the bar and both bartenders were boring...no personality at all, and quite lame. It looked like some of the people sitting at the tables were having fun, but overall, there was nothing that even made us think about ever wanting to go there again.

Went to

the one at pier park in Panama City. Food was good , not great.

From everyone I've talked to, it's way overpriced. I also know of a couple people that left after getting drinks as they couldn't put up with the servers.

It's definitely not a place for kids. My wife went with the kids and some friends on a Wednesday for lunch after catching a movie. I've had to answer questions from an 8 year old that I never planned on having to answer. I know some relatives were not happy with the things placed on their middle school aged kids when they went to dinner.

Never been, have no desire to go. Not sure why anyone would..

Totally agree. Not my cup of tea.

Nothing like taking a group to a place that encourages rude/poor behavior. That's fun in someone's world I suppose.

The place makes Hooters seem like a good option. That's never a compliment.

And, the kicker for me is the food is bad. Just want I look for in a restaurant.

I'm with you. I've never been, but when I go out to eat, I got for the conversation with the people I'm eating dinner with. The less I need to talk to the server the better in my opinion. I feel like I'd get annoyed very quickly.
