Quite a streaky team.

Can someone run that calculation for me again on what winning percent the Reds need to play at to catch the Brewers?

Bailey stuff is as good as Latos except he has mental breakdowns often. But he has been good lately. Earning his money!

Good question.

Didn't get to watch the game tonight but sounds like another solid performance.

Beginning to wonder if Negron can play SS. Think Cozart is playing better because he knows BP will be back soon and he doesn't want to lose PT to a hot hitting Negron? Price keeps running Cozart out there no matter how poorly he's hitting.

Brewers have a .548 winning %. That equates to 89 wins. Reds would have to play .638 ball to get to 89 wins. Obviously, the Reds need the Brewers to falter a bit.

Because Cozart is a GG caliber SS.

Do you give up a couple of extra outs over the course of a season in order to score more runs?

Well I'd rather play a solid SS than play defense like the Indians and give away runs like we're on Oprah's show.

Negron isn't that bad with the glove and he's showing that he's a better hitter than Cozart, although in a much smaller scope.

Even though I say no, let's for sake of argument we say yes. Who on the Reds roster, or even down on the farm is better offensively than Cozart, and could play a decent SS?

As someone pointed out earlier Negron is a career .248 hitter in the minors. Next suggestion?

Cozart is fine. He's an elite level defensive SS, and as long as they let him stick in the 8 spot in the order there is no reason at all to mess with him.

It is almost exactly the same as it was last week. If the Brewers play basically .500 baseball over their last 47 games the Reds have to go 28-19. If the Brewers continue to win at their .548 clip the Reds have to go 30-17 which is a .638 percentage--no one in baseball has a winning percentage that high. That is why those projections are relevant this late in the season in regards to each team's playoff chances.
