Pit Bull licks baby all over, parents think it's cute (link/video)

Featured Replies

Ok guys, who thinks this is a good thing for the parents to let happen? Do these people read the papers or see the news? I have to tell you, NO WAY in a million years am I gonna let this occur. Yeah, on the face of it, it is "cute". But in no way, in my very humble but honest opinion, is it safe...and in no way do I have a pit bull in the house if I have small children/babies. From licking on to snacking on in a matter of seconds is what could happen...I'm not taking that chance.

The pit bull may not be known as an especially affectionate dog breed, but one Californian canine is doing her part to correct the stereotype.

Briana Figueras, 25, recorded a short video of her 3-year-old puppy, Gemma, covering her 10-month-old son, Elliott, in kisses. The result is predictably adorable. Elliott is seen smiling and giggling as Gemma nuzzles him.

The bad thing is those dogs can turn a switch any second and kill a baby and bite the neck and that's it, it's all over. Those parents are stupid.

Pit Bulls are the most misunderstood breed on earth and these two posts prove it.

Pit Bulls don't just turn a switch and attack. They are either raised properly or they aren't. That goes for all dogs and not just Pit Bulls. Pit Bulls get the stigma they have because they are more dangerous than other dogs when they attack but if my Huskies weren't raised properly they'd attack people also.

Bingo.

Heck, in my (limited) experience, chihuahuas are the meanest dogs on the planet. Must be a Napoleon complex or something.

I agree with that 100%. If Chihuahas were the size of pit bulls, they would all need to be euthanized. Pit bulls are so dangerous because when they do bite someone, they do major damage. Some of the greatest dogs I have witnessed our pit bulls including two that do the rehab unit at Children's hospital.

I've seen what my dog will eat, and I don't enjoy watching her lick my baby girl.

Huskies, Pits, Germany Shepards, and Rottweilers are all really cool dogs. I would not let them around as a family dog. They are too strong and too dangerous when they do attack.

It's all about how you raise them. We have 3 Huskies in our house with 3 kids and a GrandBaby in the house. No worries at all. Our dogs love the Baby. No worries whatsoever.

Exactly. My golden retriever/sheltie mix (who adopted me three years ago) is NOT kid friendly. From her photo, you would think that she'd be the perfect babysitter.

Exactly. My sister has a pit bull and a Shepard. She also has 2 kids under 3 years old. They are the super loving and super friendly to the kids, and people and other animals. If you raise them right they are fine.

We had a black lab who was as gentle as could be. She had extreme patience as the kids were growing up as they used her as their playmate and were often quite rough wrestling with her when they were young. However, she was very protective of them and could turn into the most vicious sounding and acting dog in a heartbeat if she felt the kids were threatened. It was quite a sobering change we only saw twice in 12 years.

When a Pitbull bites, it never lets go and shakes like a shark. Where other dogs have a tendency to bite for shorter periods of time. Also Pits weren't bred to be around families, they were bred to fight other pitbulls. A well trained Pitbull can be a good dog, but if/when it snaps, it has serious consequences.
