It doesn't matter the reason why the school paid for the plane tickets. That's against the rules. Schools can't pay for things like that and if there is a way for the schools to pay for it they should have followed the rules properly to pay for it. It's really that simple.

Agreed, as I mentioned yesterday, if there was no rules or very little rules on foreign exchange players, and/or being able to give them free plane tickets, you and I could create a monster of a team. Heck, I am trying to place about 6 more Euro players that are very good, and a lot of these kids families have very little money so they have to try to raise it from other people that have very little money, a free round trip plane ticket, and possibly tickets to go back home once a school year, I'd have them lined up waiting to come over! But, it's not that easy, if you even come close to following all or most of the rules.

BigVMan, I put crossover in the same category as someone who comes on here talking up the sports program that they follow and trashing everyone else in the way. Then when they lose, they disappear, many until the next season. Well, this was a HUGE lose. By the person not coming back on here speaks volumes! It tells me they know 100% we were 100% correct and that they were 100% wrong!

 

Disagree. The Crossover hasn't been on here since April 23 and hasn't had a reason to. The Crossover doesn't owe any of us anything and if The Crossover learned about everything that went down after the fact then so be it. Based on how The Crossover reacted during the season I'm not convinced that The Crossover knew everything that was going on or that the people who The Crossover talked to regularly were speaking the truth. I don't understand the passion to wag the "I told you so" finger at The Crossover. The Crossover is a victim also IMO.

But as BigV stated, Crossover was not only insulting but claiming a lot of use were racist because of our views, it's not like they were just defending the school.

To assume that The Crossover knew that rules were being blatantly broken as they were could be a false assumption. Innocent until proven guilty, right?

 

The comments you all are directing at The Crossover aren't dealing with their claims of racism. It's "I told you" posts. Without knowing what The Crossover knows or knew I'd let it go but that's just me. Based on what I am seeing and hearing The Crossver is a victim in all of this mess.

It is a big part of it, to use the race card as a defense, when I do not believe anyone brought up race, that does deserve an apology, which we will never get.

And I'd argue that there's "cheating" to get an advantage over everyone else and "cheating" just to keep up.

 

Cordia was a top 25 last season. That sounds like they may have had an advantage over 200+ schools.

I don't know that I necessarily disagree with this (bolded) statement, but I also believe she can't be absolved totally of her involvement, at least at this point. None of us were there and know what was told to her and her son, what sort of bill of goods they may have been sold, etc. But after all the talk about the situation there, it didn't take a rocket scientists to do a little research of the rules, understand what was going on there and know everything probably wasn't as it seems. It would have been better for her to have just kept quiet and never have posted on this board. And to be quite honest, one of her posts that explained her/son situation could have actually been used as proof against the school...not that it was, I have no clue, but it sure was full of information that she would have been better off not posting.

 

I think what got several people riled up about her posts the most (among other things) was her insinuation that those of us that didn't like what was going on was based on the color of most of the young men involved. Which, as far as me personally and I know for many others as well couldn't be any further from the truth.

 

As for an apology, me personally I don't care about that, I'd be much more interested in knowing the back story of how her son ended up at Cordia and what all they were told and by who. And if they truly were a victim in al this, which as I said is quite possible, that will go a long way in bringing people more around to her side.

My posts in The Crossover's defense aren't to bring people to their side. I could not care less who is on whose side. IMO based on the knowledge I have about The Crossover's situation it is easy to see that The Crossover could have been taken advantage of because they have a talented son. The Crossover could have been lied to from the jump abut what is and isn't acceptable in the rules. You guys act like you got the whole story from what The Crossover publicly posted but I guarantee you don't have the whole story about any of The Crossover's situation. I'm just as interested as anyone else to hear from The Crossover in regards to this situation but I'm not going to chase The Crossover down for a response. Obviously The Crossover has other things going on that requires attention.
