So you are now considering BW program on the same level as Highlands and Trinity (albeit it smaller class)?

 

My point is that Highlands, and for that matter yes Trinity, are on another level with their programs. Not just in the state but also nationally. If there was a Highlands or Trinity type program in the same class as BW - would they have the same number of titles?

 

And as far as BW beating Cov Cath - yep it has happened in the past. Cov Cath's program has never been on the same level as Highlands or Trinity either.

I think Beechwood needs to take a hard look at the result of the game this year and next year. If CCH handles them pretty well then yes I believe it is time for Beechwood to move on from playing CCH.

You get too wrapped up in what one- maybe two- posters have to say about their schools and use that to label an entire fan base.

It's not a mystery that this site caters more toward N Ky teams- and it's further no mystery that a great number of those posters happen to root for 2-3 teams in particular. So topics on those 2-3 teams tend to outweigh topics on the rest. It doesn't mean the other teams aren't just as worthy for discussion- just depends on the audience at hand.

a 19-14 record vs BW isn't as dominating as some would like to make it out to be when talking about how much better they are than BW.

 

Since the Cov Cath / Beechwood series resumed in 2003, CCH has won 9 out of 11. Since the legendary Mike Yeagle left Beechwood, CCH has won 7 out of 8.

It is still a rivalry game that the teams and fans get pumped up for. It is a money maker for both teams. CCH hasn't beaten Highlands much over the past 10+ games but that is still a game some make out to be a big one. The point being that just because one team is winning nearly every game it doesn't mean they shouldn't play each other. As long as the BW / CCH games stay competitive, keep the rivalry going. If things get too lopsided, then I guess BW will follow the path NCC has set in its Highlands rivalry.

One thing I see in the info above, SK is getting better and narrowing the gap between them and CCH. Let's see how it goes this year and if the trend continues.

You're completely right. Unless this series starts to get completely out of hand (which I do not see happening) then this game should be played. You know what you're going to get which Beechwood. They are always a solid and well coached team that is going to make you better win or lose.
