Same could be said of BW or New Cath for that matter. SK has done more with similar talent and numbers.

Cov Cath man to man is way bigger in size and numbers than BW and the difference resembles the difference between a jv and varsity squad.

 

There is no shame or disrespect in this. This is just the difference between an about to be elite 5a program and an elite, but declining, 1a program.

bballguy, don't get me wrong. I have no issue with CCH at all, the issue I've always had is the fans of CCH who for some reason think they are better than they actually are.

 

CCH hasn't won squat yet you and other fans still tend to talk down to other teams in the area that don't have the word Highlands in their name and it never made sense. CCH hasn't won anything yet they are men playing boys when you compare them to BW? I don't get it. How about CCH actually winning something before sticking their chest out. You tend to belittle every team to make your team seem bigger when in reality they aren't anything special. The video that was posted of last years game showed 2 evenly matched teams to anyone watching that video. The score doesn't tell the story at all. So to think CCH is all that, then win something first. Win a district title or something. Just win baby! lol

How is CCH going to be an elite 5A program?

 

Seriously, tell us, they weren't even an elite 4A program.

 

If I'm not mistaken, Beechwood and Cov Cath have played a total of 33 times and CCH has won 19 and lost 14. That deffinatly doesn't sound like a dominating team against a 1A school. Sounds like they've been pretty even over the years.

Beechwood has not been very big the last few seasons. I remember when they played SK in 2012 and the captains went to mid-field, it was almost laughable how much bigger SK was. Yet in that game Beechwood was winning a big chunk of the game and was driving for the go ahead touchdown in the last couple minutes when they had an unforced fumble at about the SK 25 yard line. Final score in that one was SK 21 Beechwood 17. Size isn't everything. Over the past 6 or 7 seasons I can think of two times when CCH vs. BW wasn't a competitive game.

What is their record against those actual schools? Winning % for a season doesn't prove much unless all schools play the same schedule against the same teams.

Camp Co and Dixie didn't play each other in '09 and '10. Ryle is 6-4 vs SK last 10 seasons.

I started another thread about this, but I wonder how the lower # of players at the youth/ms level will effect HS teams in the future.

So you are now considering BW program on the same level as Highlands and Trinity (albeit it smaller class)?

 

My point is that Highlands, and for that matter yes Trinity, are on another level with their programs. Not just in the state but also nationally. If there was a Highlands or Trinity type program in the same class as BW - would they have the same number of titles?

 

And as far as BW beating Cov Cath - yep it has happened in the past. Cov Cath's program has never been on the same level as Highlands or Trinity either.

BW had a great run of success against CCH in the 90s even in years where CCH won the state championship. However, I think CCH has won about 8 of the last 10 matchups with the BW wins coming in 03 and 08 (didn't play in 07).

Last two times Beechwood played SK.

 

2012 - SK 21 BW 17 with BW fumbling away the ball around the SK 25 on the game winning drive.

2011 - BW 28 SK 0 - BW total domination of SK.

 

After those two, SK chose not to schedule Beechwood.
