Featured Replies

Who are the top five teams in Class 4A to start the season? You can either list five teams or you can rank them.

Highlands, Covington Catholic, Boyle County, Ashland, Collins, Lexington Catholic?

Don't know anything about Ashland or what Collins & Boyle Co have coming back. HHS and CCH will be there again and sounds like Lex Catholic will be strong. Johnson Central is in the mix also.

Tell us all about what Collins has returning from last year's championship team.

I thought they had lost a bunch and were going to be down a bit.

Look forward to your specific insight.

I expect Boyle to be at least as strong as they were last year. They are in my top 3 of

Highlands, CovCath and Boyle in no particular order. LexCath would be my #4.

Yes. Tell us why Collins is #1. I look forward to your insight as well.

The straw that stirs the drink. :thumb:

Collins did lose a ton of three year starters but I was thinking their fans had mentioned they had a lot in the pipeline, just don't remember details.

1. Highlands

2. Lexington Catholic

3. Owensboro

4. Covington Catholic

5. Boyle County

4a is wide open, tough to figure out.

Since I know uk#1fan does not know the specifics of what Collins graduated off of a fantastic team, I will help him out and provide the information.

They graduated 16 seniors.

They return a bit on the defensive side. The defense accounted for 1013 tackles last season - 54% were by graduating seniors; a very respectable 46% return.

Offensively Collins scored 81 touchdowns last season: rushing - 39, receiving - 37, defensive/special teams - 5 . The total number of touchdowns scored by underclassmen was 3. That's 78 TD's that graduated.

I will be the first to tell you that Lucas did one great job of coaching last season. If he can work his magic again this season after losing 96% of his TD production he is Houdini.

Collins does return the back up qb that threw the game winning pass against Highlands. :D
