To answer this one, yes…that's actually called "self sacrifice" and it's kind of the cornerstone of being a soldier. You don't do for you, you do selflessly for others who can't do for themselves. That includes putting your own agenda aside for the good of the whole and not putting your personal wants and needs ahead of the expectations you are sworn to uphold. Think of it as discipline…. I will agree that it is good that soldiers can still disobey and order that is illegal, but there is a process for that….social media ain't it….and this particular situation ain't one.

I'm not against activism, I just see some forms as totally useless, this is one of the useless ones IMO. I think just about anything speech wise would go further than this, however I don't think she should be involved in this at all. I honestly think her husband, as president, would be better fit to handle this situation along with his staff and the military. I'm fine with the First Lady using her title to serve as an advocate for social issues, I don't see this as a social issue.
May 24, 201412 yr The sad part in all of this is that a hashtag is used to just bring awareness about a tragic situation in Africa and instead of the focus being on never forgetting about the kidnapped girls people want to focus on who is using a hashtag. To to me that lost focus on who is using a hashtag to remember is way more stupid than using a hashtag. #wakeuppeople
