They may not respect him and feel he is totally wrong but to "break the chain of command" is a definite "NO-NO" in the history of military discipline. I would agree that he has EVERY REASON to not respect the President. But to say it publicly is making himself feel better and doing nothing to make the situation any better. That's the issue. They feel angry enough to do this and there are many, many more who feel that way. I'm not predicting a military coup or anything crazy like that. However, it affects morale to not be able to trust who is in charge of you. Look at many Viet Nam vets who still remain bitter over their lack of support by the Executive Branch and Congress.

He should have brought in the administration on this issue instead of running "sheriff" all on his own.

Politicians do and say dumb things on a regular basis, so your effort to morally equivocate is not quite the same as a public school teacher that practices indoctrination.

Thus I dare say a teacher at that age has more influence on kids than do a politician. So the comparison doesnt work for me.

September 12, 201412 yr In what way. What has changed that brought the better good to the country? What new voice that wasn't known before has been heard and made the nation healthier? What policy changed? With Obama it is hard to believe if he really meant what he said Wed. night, but he realizes something must be done. Now will he actually follow through on what he said or was it all for show? Policies may or may not change. The one thing that has changed is that the American public now knows more than what it did and that may translate less support for Obama in Congress after the Nov. elections.
