I also don't see how anyone can connect the Army Ranger's tweet to the specific tweet by the First Lady, when literally thousands upon thousands, including hundreds of celebrities and famous people, have tweeted the same thing.

Serious question....How does raising awareness help the cause? I'm aware of this group now, and I wasn't before. My awareness has been raised. What help has it done?

First thing that comes to mind is $$$. Increased awareness makes it more likely that people will help out, whether it's by donating their time or money to the cause.

I would caution you guys to not criticize HOW people become aware of stories. The key point is that they do. Just because it's not like you do it doesn't make them any less intelligent or any less down with the cause.

That's not true at all. I'm talking about this specific incident. How does raising awareness rescue these girls?

 

When people raise awareness for, let's say breast cancer, they raise money, which leads to research towards finding better treatments, cures, etc. Or they provide materials that allow women to know what signs to be looking for, etc.

 

How does raising money contribute towards rescuing these girls? How does having more people aware of this organization and this tragic incident bring back these girls?
