Video is on WLWT Facebook. It is NOT good for the officer. Sure looks like he could have gotten in his cruiser and pulled her over. He wasn't letting her leave till she stopped while he was on foot. That's what your going to hear from the fam as they sue for millions...

The unfortunate thing is he had 1-2 seconds to act. Everyone else has all the time in the world to dissect his every move. Sad for everyone involved.

The great unknown is what we do not see on the video. Did he immediately jump on the car from the side? Did he get in front of it after the video ended and then get hit? How much time elapsed from the time the car leaves the camera until the shots are fired? How did the car end up in reverse?

This. I'll say the video doesn't look great but it's not the worst either. I'm not speaking ill of the dead, but she put the whole chain of events in motion. She knew he was attempting to stop her. It looks like he was attempting to get to the front of the car as they left the screen. And she accelerated. If she had stopped the car, none of the rest would have happened.

I think the main prob is he could have let her go then followed her and pulled her over for failure to comply with an order.

I agree with everyone else who has posted so far - this video is bad for the police officer. Car traveling at a very slow rate of speed. Officer off to the side of the car and then walks toward the driver side of the car to try and get her to stop. Nothing on the video helps the officer IMO.

I watched it again. I guess the one thing that maybe helps the officer in the video is there is no way anyone can see she didn't know he was a police officer and/or didn't see him. It did look like her car sped up a little as she got past the officer. I am trying to figure out how he got on the hood of the car without running and jumping on it.

Look at the time. It's 40+ seconds from the time they leave the screen till that car appears.

 

Also, when they leave the screen, the gun is still in the holster. More transpired after they left the screen.

Fleeing in a vehicle is a felony and would be the justification for a stop

The police officer really needs some audio to help people figure out what is going on for the bulk of the video while the action is off screen.
