Have you read this thread at all? He's made ignorant statements throughout. Sorry, but if the link was new info and hadn't already been posted a week ago, I'd give credibility to it.

One thing I didn't pick up on the first time I read the report was that the shots were actually fired through the girls drivers window. Initially I was thinking the deputy's whole body was on the hood and he fired through the windshield. After rereading it a few times, I'm not sure the deputy's whole body was on the hood. They bring up just the hand and the mirror area in the statement. Very vague but one of the questions TBD.

 

The picture I saw showed four holes in the windshield. Diamond shaped, if you were looking directly at the car they would be placed north/northeast of the steering wheel.

Been trying to look at this the same way a juror might. Some of the points that would be key to me would be...

 

1.) What was the victim's BAC? (An impaired, especially underage, driver could explain some irrational behavior behind the wheel.)

2.) What was the BAC of the other people in the car? (Goes to the credibility of the supposed eye witnesses)

3.) Are there any other eye-witnesses who saw when/how the officer ended up on the hood, other than those who were in the car? Again, how reliable is their testimony? (Were they drunk at the time?)

4.) Has the officer been involved in any other shootings?

5.) What is officer's service record like? Any other confrontations that ended up badly?

6.) Is there a recording of the officer as he arrived on-scene? Did he sound stressed? Upset?

7.) What is the opinion of the officer's demeanor by the people in the car that he stopped and, ultimately, let go just prior? Again, upset? Aggravated?

 

These are just some things that I would want answers to, before I passed judgment, one way or the other.
