Dusty sucks!!!!!!

Hamilton to Votto "you do the hitting, I'll do the running". Votto to Hamilton "deal, cause you sure won't do much of the hitting".

Sounds like puppy love.

.333 last 7 games. He's on pace for 70 steals currently. Votto cost him one last night or it would be higher. He gets that average up around .250 he might approach 90-100.

Can you imagine his value if he could just hit around .250-260 for a season and stay healthy? He definitely changes a game. He looks to be very confident and willing to do anything to win. I think I like this guy.

Hamilton is 17years old, he needs a day off already?

I was thinking the same thing although he only weighs about 110 lbs. Maybe they need to soak him in ice today.

He'd be arguably the most impactful leadoff hitter in the game if he hit that kind of average IMO.

Lizard Momma called Price to get Heisey in the lineup.

I like Heisey and Hamilton in the lineup, maybe put him at his old position of SS. Cozart has nothing to offer this lineup, he doesn't hit as well as Heisey and he doesn't have the intangibles of Hamilton

Cozart is a very good defensive SS. His hitting isn't anything to write home about, but he does have his moments.

Dear mom,

Having fun here this summer at baseball camp with my friends. Can you send some cookies and my favorite bat? None of these work.

Love,

Zack

Sure you can write home about it.

Dear Zack,

Please send any correspondence to the PO Box. Dad doesn't want anyone to know you're our son until you can hit at least .250. He says keep up the good glove work, but until you start to hit he'll still refer to you as Darrell Chaney.

Love,

Mom

Didn't say couldn't.

Simple formula....(Runs Scored/# of Times on Base) * (OBP)

Okay, took your formula and had a little fun with it. (It's not going to be exact, because it doesn't reflect the times batters reached due to an error, or may have scored a run as a pinch runner, but...)

Billy Hamilton (2014)

Runs = 9

# of times on base (hits+bb+hbp) = 21

OBP = .266

Gives him a score of .114

By comparison, I used the career stats for Rickey Henderson

Runs = 2,295

# of times on base = 5,343

OBP = .401

Gives him a score of .172

What's interesting there, is that both of them are very, very close (.429 to .430) in comparing the number of runs they score per times on base. Where Rickey pulled ahead, was the fact his OBP is much, much, much higher.

And, just for giggles, I used Choo's stats from last year with the Reds...

Runs = 107

# of times on base = 300

OBP = .423

Gives him a score of .151

Which means, statistically speaking (using UKMF's formula)...Choo was better at scoring runs than Hamilton currently is.
