That would be a shooting but a justifiable shooting since it would be for self defense. I am guessing these are all shootings (justifiable or not), atleast I hope they are included in those numbers.

Well, almost 70% of the victims are black, another 18% are Hispanic. As of 4/22 'only' 11 victims were white. Chicago resisted integration in its past. Valerie Jarrett's grandfather tried to get public housing integrated - he was rebuffed. This lead to the development of Robert Taylor Homes. When these monster high rise housing projects opened they were heralded as the future of public housing. But they became their own eco-systems and where eventually run by gangs until they were torn down. Chicago does not want to face its own racism. With the vast majority of the gun-related murders in the minority neighborhoods the leaders take no responsibility and take no action - except to blame guns in general.

Both the city’s top cop and its mayor, former Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, have said they oppose the concealed carry laws. So the police superintendent says confiscated guns are making the difference. If you extrapolate 1,300 seized guns in 3 months to a full year you get 5,200. Guess how many guns Chicago police confiscated in 2013. Answer: 6,500.

Save your breath, you will never convince me otherwise. Just like no one needs cars that go over 80. Therefore no one should be allowed to own a car that can go over 80. Because it's unsafe and just not practical or necessary.

Civilian AR-15s are merely fancy looking semi-automatic rifles. No different in function than many 'hunting' semi-automatic rifles. They are not - by military definition - an 'assault rifle'. The term as it is used to in the common context was invented by Josh Sugermann. He did it to specifically scare people. Clearly, its working. The AR-15 is probably the best general purpose rifle in the world. If you have only one rifle - the AR-15 is probably the best choice. It has many uses - home defense, critter control, wilderness protection (bears, wolves, etc.). The mechanism is no more lethal or dangerous than a hunting rifle. In fact the standard round of the AR-15 (.223) is less lethal or powerful that most hunting rifle rounds like the .3006. Only if Josh Sugermann or Eric Holder have successfully brainwashed people is there a reason to treat the AR-15 any different than any other semi-automatic rifle.

It was certainly the target of Josh Sugermann's fear mongering efforts to characterize it as just a 'weapon of war' with no civilian use.

April 25, 201412 yr Yeah, since we all know Wifi and unlimited text messages are the same as guns... While they aren't the same as you say that is a pretty good comparison. Here is another example: What if since SOME people cause wrecks and kill others due to reckless driving, cars were limited to 10 MPH. And since some people use cars to run from the police we limit all gas tanks to 1 gallon to limit their ability to get away. But to ensure safety and that no one can get away we place these limits on everyone's cars and trucks. There is one big difference the Bill of Rights doesn't mention any rights connected to carriages.
April 25, 201412 yr This debate is like talking to a wall, so I'm going to summarize my thoughts/beliefs and bow out of this one... -I own guns and will own more in the future. -I believe 100% that Americans should be allowed to own guns. -I also believe there will never come a time when guns are taken away from us. -Nowhere does it say what guns we are allowed to have, nor the number we are allowed to have. -I do not believe that restricting certain weapons is an infringement on our right to bear arms. -In general, many things people do in excess bother me. Guns are no different.
April 25, 201412 yr we need to enforce the laws on the books before we attempt to add more laws. I may even be in favor of some kind of psychological evaluation, but what about criminals who may steal the guns they have? How could they have nay gun they want but then a home owner is restricted to maybe a handgun? I do think that all people in Campbell County are nuts and don't need to have any weapon, and should surrender the weapons to those in Kenton County. I get first dibs on anything 556 NATO
