Congrats to the Cats on a win. It seemed everyone contributed tonight, especially with McDavid's offense off tonight and in foul trouble late.Thomas got back on track on the offensive end. Wilcox put up a big 3rd quarter and Cannoy had a big 4th. We still need to start hitting those free throws late.

 

Just one question if anyone was counting. How many and 1's did Rose Hill have in the 4th. It seemed to me like there was 4 or 5. Even if they were questionable calls we can't afford those type of fouls late in the game.

Cannoy and Wilcox are hard-nose players and do all the little things to help the T-cats. They are the people that get very little sot light, but you can always count on them to show up and play.

My philosophy is to foul them hard enough to where they go to the line and earn their 2 points if a foul is called.

Chase Jackson. He didn't have that great of a season, but he dress alot of games for reasons which I don't know. He had 2 points tonight and saw limited action. Nothing special here, especcially for someone his size.

 

As I have said in earlier posts that speaking negatively about a kid is just plain pathetic. Remember, they are just kids and sometimes they or their friends may read some of this garbage. I will assure you gopack that Chase"s time will come. And as far as being special.... oh just ask anyone that knows him! Rose Hill has a fabulous team. We all wanted a win but it just was not our time. Stay tuned though....Stick to the game highlights and don't specifically jump on one kid. Now that's the nice version. :mad:

Very nicely put basketballmom. I'm sure Chase's time will come. I recall a guy by the name of Michael Jordan who failed to make his Varsity team one year. I'm sure Chase is a whole lot more than special to quite a few people. :thumb:

I thought the difference in the game was speed and strength,mostly strength.

Rose Hill's youth showed especially in the strength catagory. Both teams showed a lot of heart and determination.

I was surprised with R.H.'s degree of maturity in keeping it together(when they were 13 down) and making a great run at the end,especially when they had on the floor at times only one sophomore and freshman and 3 eighth graders.

 

I think it bodes well for that group over the next few years as they develop and improve.

Sounds like a good hard fought battle by the Tomcats...Congratulations...

I have got a phone call into Coach Pratt....Dickie said there was no reason for anyone to even play the rest of the games, because Ashland is cruising from here on out....So I think we will just cancel the rest of the games...

Sounds like Ashland pulled out a tough one. Great season for Rose Hill. I noticed in the paper Ashland shot 42 free throws. Why the complaints from Cats fans? hit a decent percentage and you win by a bunch.

Sounds like Ashland pulled out a tough one. Great season for Rose Hill. I noticed in the paper Ashland shot 42 free throws. Why the complaints from Cats fans? hit a decent percentage and you win by a bunch.

 

The minor complaints are because RH made 8 straight trips to the free throw line in the 4th on some very questionable calls. I thought the officials did a good job for the first 28 minutes, but after that you couldnt sneeze on the floor without the whistle blowing, but in the end it didnt matter.

One thing I have noticed about the Tomcats over the 7 game winning streak is the ability to make enough plays down the stretch to win the close game. With the exception of the Pikeville and RH game's I think all of Ashland 7 straight wins have been in games decided by less than 5 points. This team used to let close games slip away but now they've found out how to win them. Thats what you have to do to be successful in the postseason!

I said in the prediction thread that the margin of victory wasn’t important to me – and I still feel that way. However, RH had a great strategy for playing the Tomcats. We will have to shoot better from the FT line to advance very far.
