Don't worry, it happens to the best of us.

I will say this of McDavid, regardless of his stats, he has great composure for a player of any age, he never gets out of control. I would like to see him in a situation where he could showcase all of his skills.

I agree spindoc...don't misunderstand by previous posts. I think that Drew is a great kid and a great leader on his team. However, I believe that in college he may be wearing a helmet and pads rather than shooting a basketball.

 

Regardless, I also still believe that Euton will be playing D1 basketball at a mid-major to major university.

Even though he is an 8th grader, he isn't your typical 8th grader

And he(along with Chad Jackson and Bair) will not be typical 9th,10th 11th or 12th graders. IMO

That looks more intimidating in print than it sounds.

Good thread. Many snips but no bombs. As I said earlier, it was a "win" for both sides. Ashland, as expected, won the game. Rose Hill, as expected, sent a definite message about the very near future. It is always a good sign when 8th graders are being compared favorably with 11th and 12th graders. Rose Hill hasn't had that luxury since 2003.

One flaw that I see in Euton's game is his rebounding. With him being around 6'7, he should be getting alot more than he is. He only had 2 boards last night according to the ADI.

That is so true right now. He is trying to play a 2-guard when he could be a 4 in high school. He has an outside shot, but he needs to be a better rebounder. I think that will come with experience.

Good point, gopack21. However, with maturity and added strength, the rebounds should be there. As an example, when playing with their own grade or even a grade or two higher (like, for example, in freshmen tournaments), Euton, Jackson, and Bair dominate their opponents. The same can be said of Kyle Bush in elementary school games.
