While it is true that officiating didn't affect the game, I was unhappy with how they let the kids play physical for the 1st 3 qtrs and then changed the way they were calling the game in the 4th qtr. It really didn't matter that much to me, since I was a neutral observer, but it does frustrate me because of the inconsistent way that officials have been calling games. As for Ashlands FT total, RH started fouling Ash with 4 1/2 min to go and sending them to the line, which as it turns out, was a good move since Ash couldn't capitalize because of their poor FT shooting.

Rickey P ,who you quoted , was referring to the # of fouls in the 1st half.

I am not speaking negitavely about him. If you will refer to some of my previous post's, I have said he will be a good one and that he was underrated. I was just stating a fact.

Good point. How can Rose Hill complain about the 42 free throws shot when they purposely fouled for over half of the 4th quarter :confused: The officiating almost let Rose Hill back in the game during the 4th quarter.

Anybody else notice that Euton was completely shut down by McDavid until his 4th foul forced him to sit? :sssh:

I don't recall anyone complaining about the 42 free throws Ashland shot. I will however, disagree with you last sentence. Using you logic Ashland was allowed to establish their lead in the first half when they went to the line 14 times compaired to the 2 trips for RH. FWIW, I don't think that was the case just a comparison.

 

Like I said before the team that played the best won. In my opinion Ashland got the better of the whistle in the first half and Rose Hill got the better whistle in the second half.

McDavid did a great job of defending on Euton, no question. McDavid is a fine player. I also noticed that Euton completely shut down McDavid and stayed out of foul trouble.

Curious if you struggled with reading problems in school because after reading all the posts in this thread I don't recall anyone from Rose Hill complaining about free throws or officiating, only pointing out the difference in number.

Both players got caught up because, I suspect, both players were told by their respective coaches that shutting down the other player was a key to victory and it was their job to shut down the other player. However, I still think that you are looking at an 8th grader shutting down a senior as opposed to a senior shutting down an 8th grader. I like McDavid, and I think that he is one of the best in the 16th Region, however, Euton's basketball future is much brighter.
