D'Angelo Russell is the best high school player from KY since.....

I am sure Russell will make a very good pro. I just don't understand why he didn't choose to play at Louisville. Ohio State didn't give him much support which he should have been able to see in advance. Like many players in the pros, will the situation allow him to show how excellent he really is. And furthermore, will his greatness make his team better. The quality of a player is finalized in how many wins he can lead his team to.

I was always under the assumption that the only KY team he would have played for was UK and they never offered.

I could be mistaken but Russell played at Montverde(Nike) in the EYBL(Nike) and at Ohio State(Nike).

UL is Adidas......

Direct quote from him in an interview on the Russillo Show yesterday. "Louisville recruited me, but didn't recruit me hard enough."

Yep, dumb.

UL and UK dropped the ball big time.

Maybe, but UK was 38-1, perhaps they would have gotten farther with Russell in place of Harrison but it's not like PG was a weak spot considering Ulis was on the roster as well. I wouldn't say UK dropped the ball big time. I think things worked out pretty well for both UK and Russell with how they went.

40-0 is better than 38-1. The Kentucky kid could have saved the day for UK. How about that storyline?

Just saying.....

If only it were that easy. :D

Like I said maybe it makes a difference against Wisconsin, maybe it doesn't, but I still think that it worked out well for both parties. Maybe if Russell has to share time at PG with both Harrison and Ulis he doesn't get consider for a top 3 pick in the draft. I don't fault Cal for rolling with the team he had.

Maybe if Russell is there time at PG isn't shared at all and then you have a championship. As a Duke fan I'm glad UK and UL dropped the ball on having the KY kid on their roster. Duke may not have that championship had he played for either team.

Best player in this draft.

I don't the Lakers get Russell.

Me either.

I LOVE being wrong!!!!! :lol2:

Hmmmm......because the Lakers drafted Russell they no longer need who.............Rajon Rondo.

As has been stated Russell is still ahead of the Rondo curve.

Duke may not have that championship had he played for either team.

Louisville doesn't cut down the nets even with Russell. Sure it would have been nice to have him, but I don't see the season's outcome being any different.

You never know. He carried OSU this season and he could have made Harrell and Rozier better scorers and we all know scoring and inefficient offense did UL in last season.
