Tragic News: 2 Teens killed/ 2 in serious condition travelling back from sweet 16

Horrific accident involving 4 teenagers from Christian County who attended the Hoptown/Trinity Game. 2 were killed and 2 other at UK Hospital in serious condition. I know one of the young men who are in the hospital. If you pray, please do so for these 2 young men and all the families involved. All 4 young men were members of Christian County's Football team.

As I was driving home from the CCh/Bardstown game last night I saw a car load of students that had been to the game. At that moment I thought to myself, wow I hope that everyone travels safely as they go home from the Sweet 16. My daughter turns 16 on Sunday and my thoughts turned to teaching her how to drive and how scary it is going to be for my wife and I to send her out in a car. I cannot imagine what these families are going through. My prayers to them.

Have there been any reports on the theories of how this happened?

 

In the article a witness states:

 

"I just see the guy in front of us in the pickup truck just turn really hard right and just smashed right into the semi truck," said O'neal.

 

The article also says that the semi was parked on the shoulder of the highway.

 

I'm trying to picture in my head what could have lead to this. I can't help but wonder if he was trying to text and lost control of the wheel, or were the youths clowning around making the driver lose control, or did the passenger try to take the wheel while the kid was answering a text or what?

^ Could be anything. Young drivers are inexperienced, many get tired driving a long distance an d may doze off.

 

But right now my focus is praying for everyone involved, and the report will come out in due time.
