Definitely didn't see that one coming...

WOW!! Didn't get to see this one. But Morgan had everything going for them and lots of time to get ready for this one! Unless they were just looking ahead and ran into a perfect West Carter game, I have no idea what could have gone wrong.

 

I do know that Morgan is still one of the best in the Region and could beat West 9 out of 10. But with them OUT, their absence leaves the door wide open for the other teams in the Region!

I had to listen to this one and I would like to say that Coach Perry was a class act during the post game interview, but I would expect nothing else.

Like I've said all along, almost every team in this region can win on any given night. This game totally opens up the region now.

 

TRUE!!!! Anyone on any given night can go down, but I would have NEVER EVER thought it would be Morgan in THIS game. Congrats to West Carter!!!!! See you in Morehead. They are :banana: in Olive Hill tonight.

JONES, JONES, JONES, and JONES some more. He hit HUGE shot after HUGE shot. And made some big time plays defensivly tonight as well. Big time players show up for big time games, and he sure did. Congrats to West Carter on advancing to the district championship, and congrats to Morgan Co on a great season, hated to see it end like this. :thumb:

I feel bad for my buddies in West Liberty. They will be back, they have built a splendid program.

 

On the other side of the coin, you have to congratulate the kids and coaches from West.

This is pretty much unbelievable - this is almost like a 15 seed beating a 2 in the NCAA tourney. I would say that more than half the people around here would have picked Morgan to win the region and especially their district since they were hosting. The regional touney is already going to have West Carter and either Menifee or Bath County in it. What a crazy crazy year in local hoops.

I just saw that Greenup has punched their ticket to the regional tourney, as well. That means that in the regional tournament we'll have:

 

- Greenup (17-10)

- West Carter (11-15)

- Menifee (4-19) or Bath (8-17)

- Rowan County (13-13)

- Ashland (13-14) or Rose Hill (14-12)

 

We will not have:

 

- Morgan (22-4)

- Fairview (20-8) or Boyd (15-10)

When will you people ever learn?

This reminds me back in the early 80's(83 or 84), Russell brought back 4 of there starting 5 and was picked to have a shot at the regional title and lost in the opening round of districts to Raceland I believe.
