The credit goes to West, BUT . . . . . . Morgan is much better than West, so what happened to the Cougars tonight?

 

Nets, how many seniors does Morgan lose? And with all the seniors that are graduating, what kind of team can Morgan expect next year?

Not for sure but I think Morgan loses Mcgowan, Peyton, Adkins, Williams, and Montgomery. Correct me if I am wrong.

Hard to explain parking, but good luck though...since East Carter/Elliott County play tomorrow night, I think they said if you're from Morgan Co. your not allowed to come the game, or if you do park at the Pleasant Valley Golf Course...5.6 miles away and be careful walking as there is no lighting on the road way or in the curves...but if you're from East/Elliott you will be fine. Just kidding..........

 

Some people from Morgan Co. was told not to park in the most obvious parking lot or at least URGED strongly to go behind the school.

 

I do understand that primary parking should go to game officials, etc. but some took it to tad far. No big deal though. Morgan was bounced, and should be better parking tomorrow.

They do not lose Montgomery. He is a junior.

 

They get back Haney, Young, Montgomery that played signficant minutes or started.

That definately sounds like some craziness. I will be attending the game tomorrow so I was just curious what I needed to expect.

Maybe I knew it was going to be a bad night when "PARKING" became an issue before the game. I was asked by several fans in addition to my own relocation, as to why Morgan Co. fans (Or at least some) could not park in the parking lot. One person said of the thousands of $$$ that has been generated by tax, and by MY contributions, I would think that I could park in a parking spot that is not "taken". In addition, the West Carter team was frustrated by where they had to unload and park.

 

But hey it's Morgan CO. :thumb: And with this last read between the lines jab...I feel for all those Morgan Co. fans who were/are so loyal to the basketball program, supporting, traveling and giving their honest support. Maybe that less than 1% group of 14,000+ Morgan Countians can cheer a little bit right now, knowing the humbling that just got served....a good old fist pump that the almighty Cougars were defeated and have it handed to them on their home floor. But, what can you say...it's sports and wins and losses happen. There will be tons of frustation of his loss, but in order to have class and professionalism, it should be noted that the full credit goes directly to West Carter Boy's Basketball team. Should also be a very interesting off season in the Morgan Co. sports area. Stay tuned.

First, Morgan County never overlooked West Carter at any point in preparation or during the game. The 100% credit goes to the West Carter basketball team. They out did Morgan Co. in every facet of the game. They had a game plan and executed to perfection. The Comets hardly ever turned the basketball over. 1 at halftime and probably less than 3 in 2nd half or maybe game.

 

While Kalen Jones was unstoppable...he would hit three's or simply penetrate and create his shot, I believe one of West's spark plugs was PG Daniel Barker. He ran an excellent PG, distributing, running the offense, and playing very poised. That is where I think the Comets really clicked.

 

Congrats to Stan McGlone and staff for an excellently played basketball game. It was well officiated, so nobody can say the "refs" cost 'em the game. It was a case in which West Carter beat the Cougars fair and square. They earned it and will advance.

I wouldnt go that far. But Fairview has had the most consistent season of anyone left, if you ask me BC will go as far as Owens can take them, and I dont know if he alone can get them to Morehead let alone Rupp.

Please read Net's post above for this explanation. First off, I'd like to congratulate West Carter on an excellent defensive game plan as well as "near perfect" offensive execution. Morgan played extremely tight last night. Playing not to lose will lead to exactly that result. Shortarming shots and throwing tentative passes all night. I never thought I would see an individual beat this team but it happened last night on the offensive end. Jones was unstoppable last night and hit big shot after big shot. The last being a running one hander in the lane over Blake. :eek: I'd still like to say this has been a very enjoyable season to watch and the guy's should be very proud of their accomplishments this season. These seniors have left the program in excellent shape and are all very outstanding young men. The parking situation was ludicrous but what can you expect with some of the leadership over there at this time. :irked:
