All A revisit!

He would only have a problem if Highlands was not among the invitees.

I know I shouldn't have introduced RCC9 to UK#1fan back in the football season, looks like someone is rubbing off on the other.

So, this is all YOUR fault then! :lol2:

Ok, I can't believe I got sucked into this one. I will make it short. As I guy who went to a small school and graduated kids from a large school the notion of an all A tourney is bogus. The only schools that should be invited to and all A tourney is all A schools. This should be for the little guy, Dayton, Ludlow, ect.......

If this were the case the All "A" as we know it would fold like a cheap suit.

With all due respect, nobody would watch this. Some of these teams you need a search warrant to find their fans.

 Kind of, I guess.

Sorry I meant no harm. It's just the schools that usually win the all A classic aren't single A schools and they can compete at the higher level and have a shot at their districts and region. The true A schools mostly only have this tourney to look foward to since basketball isn't ran by class like football. I would hope attendance isn't driving this tourney.

If you went by football then only 32 schools would be in the entire tournament

In reality some of these teams on both the boys and girls side simply would not compete no matter how you slice it. JMO

UH oh, now the New Mod is peaking in......Best be on your best behavior.

RCC, does your wife know that you are advocating for the demise of a tournament that is kind of a big deal at her alma mater?

Seriously, it's just a tournament. No big deal.

You know in NKY they have the DI, DII, and DIII NKAC champs every year. Some schools don't really care or acknowledge the conference games much but some do put emphasis on it and hang banners when they win it. I guess we should stop that because they all get a chance to compete for a District and Region championship.

The "All A" has 5 other sports it holds tournaments for. Are the winners of soccer, softball, volleyball, etc ordering rings and banners? Are they referring to themselves as "State Champs" ?

Funny how when a team loses in the All A it's "just another tournament"... but when they win, they are suddenly labeled as "State Champs", forgetting the correct title is "All A Classic Tournament Champion". You throw the word "State" in there and that's when things get sideways, because it implies something more than what it is.

You want a banner or ring that says "State Champs"? You have to get it from the KHSAA.

There's no money in it for the KHSAA. No reason to "recognize" it.

.

1. Yes the other sports recognize it as state champs

2. It is not just another tournament win or lose

3. It is a State tournament for schools that qualify for it.

We have 6 classes for football and recognize 6 state champions and we 1 other tournament for basketball and people get all worked over it.

You might want to thank the All A because it keeps talk of classification for basketball down.

Obviously you failed to read post #5 when I said the Tournament sponsors provide each winning team a banner, if the team or the schools want to get rings, that's their choice.

BTW, When the tournament organizers call you State Champs, your rings can say likewise. The following is from the All "A" 9th Region Boy's homepage.

Send them to NewCath, because they are ALWAYS in the hunt for rings and banners in the All "A" and KHSAA in all sports, boys and girls. Truth in sarcasm.

And who do you think is going to foot the bill if only these really small teams are involved. You seem to forget this is a self sustaining tourney dollar wise. You have to have a decent number of teams (120) to make enough money to cover the expenses. Believe me the people running this tourney know more about runnning this thing and making it a success than anyone in the state.
