I may be mistaken, but I thought I heard the froshmore 'league' is gone.

 

I saw a Cov Cath schedule for all levels (Frosh, JV, Varsity) but did not see Scott on the Frosh schedule. May not mean anything but usually all teams fielding true Frosh in N Ky play each other.

Freshman are limited to 10 games and if a Freshmen championship game is played(which may not be played) have to leave that date open. So if Scott plays a freshman schedule there may not be room for them on many teams schedule.

What kind of systems are you guys running this year? Two-back, spread? Defense?

Nelson is or will be ready for varsity play THIS coming season. While he may not play at the QB position this season he is good enough to play varsity for Scott in his freshman year somewhere and NOT as a mop up player either. Having coached this young man I fully know his capabilities and developmental areas but I'd be hard pressed to believe that he cannot help Scott in some capacity as a freshman on Friday nites. He's one of those "special" players that NKY will find out about very soon if they are not aware of him already. The staff at Scott can choose to do what they want to but I'd play him if he's remotely ready. Players are players and if he can get the job done so be it regardless of what grade he's in.

 

There have been a lot of "special freshmen" brought back down to earth when they start playing with 18 year old young men that are fully developed. I have heard this claim many times over the years, but rarely does it happen. Much better served playing Frosh or JV and watching the upperclassmen prepare in the weight room, film room, etc to see what it takes.

I would agree in 99% of the cases. The report I'm hearing is that this one has a chance to play on Friday nites. It's early so we will see how his development comes along. Perrin has the skillset to be one of those "special players" that could help Scott early in his career.

I thought there would be some talk of Deondre Pleasant on this squad. He played some D and special teams last year as a sophomore. Some speed, hard-hitting. Expected him to maybe carry the ball since there were so many moving on.

I'd be shocked if Danny isn't the QB next. It's his job to lose. He took all the backup snaps last year, and has worked hard this whole offseason. He's added some size and has a good arm and is a threat to run the ball when things go south. Ohmer has played very little QB (1/2 a year as an 8th grader, and even less last year, as Fitzgerald was the Froshmore/JV QB). I'd say incoming Freshman Nelson Perrin is next in line.

Perrin and the rest of his class will very good by the time they're juniors. Have to give them time to develop.

I believe that the 2014 eagles will have a great season and will shock alot of people. I also think that they will have Danny Fitzgerald as starting quarterback for the next 2 years as they should. Nelson Perrin is a good quarterback but is not yet physically ready to play at the varsity level. I think he will do great as a freshman quarterback to help prepare him for the next level. Watch out for Roberto London and Lunsford in the backfield. The only concern I would have is the line because they only have 1 returning starting player.
