Scott has a similar schedule to last season where do you think they add up in their district?

I'd be shocked if Danny isn't the QB next. It's his job to lose. He took all the backup snaps last year, and has worked hard this whole offseason. He's added some size and has a good arm and is a threat to run the ball when things go south. Danny is the starter from what I understand. I was told he throws a good ball. Nelson is next in line and will probably play a little defense too I would guess.

I'd be shocked if Nelson plays any defense. I think he'll dress varsity, but they've got plenty of DB's and they gain nothing by playing him there as a freshmen. If he plays, it will be at QB, and only in a blowout or emergency. Many of the incoming freshman class will play as sophomores, but there is no need to play any of them this year.

Nobody will know until the season starts;-). Scott is planning on playing a full Freshman schedule this year and I would expect Nelson to be there and/or JV. While there aren't a ton of Seniors, they don't need to rush anybody. They are fine at the positions he plays and gain nothing by rushing him. Again, I'd be shocked if you see him or any of the incoming freshman getting anything more than mop up time at the varsity level. In the past, he and some other freshman would probably be playing. This isn't the same Scott Program. I know they lost a lot from last year. But this team will have some depth, speed and size and 40+ kids are putting time in the weight room. That freshman class will play when they are ready.

I know Nelson pretty well too, and know full well what he can do on the football field. And he is an unbelievable talent. And he will be special. And if he deserves to play, I'm sure he'll play. My comment is based on two things. One is his size. He still has some growing to do, and despite the talent, may not be physically ready to play Friday nights, especially considering he's gotten injured each of his two years at Woodland. And that could change between now and then. Second, Scott already has some solid players coming back where Nelson would play. There is simply no reason to rush him.

So Scott is playing in the Freshman league along with teams like Highlands, CCH, Ryle, Dixie, Beechwood etc? Or are they sticking with their Froshmore schedule?

From what I understand, yes, a true freshman schedule. Woodland had almost 40 8th graders last year, and nearly all of them are planning on playing next year.

Scott had a Freshman lineman last year that is 6'3 305 pounds and looks like he is a pretty good football player.

I may be mistaken, but I thought I heard the froshmore 'league' is gone.
