Lets just hope that cupcake schedule doesn't get the SK fan base too overzealous. So this time when they play one of the better teams from Louisville they won't feel the need to run their mouths on this board and get beat like a red-headed step child when their players get on the field.

Wow! You ready for this? Some people can't handle the wrath that is upon you! From your post, there looks to already be some angst towards the Pioneer program.

Oh, welcome to BGP!

Only at SK is pkaying a 4a school a feather in the cap. Kinda pitiful.

 Good one Runner, that made me chuckle.

Wow! That is a huge roster. With that many kids, hopefully the coaches can develop these boys into State Champions. Could this be the year for the Pioneers?

Again, anyone have their schedule for next year?

There schedule is the same as last year's so far. I have heard rumblings that the Holy Cross game may be bought out in favor of a more competitive game for both teams. Only rumors but heard this could have something to do with Skyline Chili.

Not sure what weeks they play who but here is a stab at it.

Collins

Cooper

Conner

NCC

HC

Ryle

Dixie

Campbell County

Boone

And the same team they played the last game last year.

With having to develope a new QB this year, a first state championship may be a tall order but I would think they have to be the favorite to repeat as the best 6a team in NKY.

With that schedule, I see them going undefeated for the regular season with all the talent they have coming back.

I'm not worried about any wrath. I want to keep it real on here. I don't have any animosity towards the SK program but do against ignorant posters like during the playoffs when members of this board said Butler was no match and so on.

Depends on what Ryle and CC have coming back. Collins, Cooper and Conner all lost a lot of talent so those are also hard to guage.

Totally agree. I change my mind. SK may well lose to CC and Ryle. But if they go undefeated, then I can say I called it. Isn't that what ukfan said last year and everyone thinks he actually has superior knowledge. LOL! Anyone can make a prediction. Just playing the game!

SK needs to drop NCC and HC. If you are a superior 6A team, why are you playing small schools? HC and NCC will both be down again, so go play somebody that will make you better. There are plenty of teams in the state or Cincy that they should be playing. Marksberry just wants to pad is stats.......could that be why they have let downs in the playoffs? They have a ton of talent and even more coming up. If SK doesn't win a championship soon, Marksberry needs to go

You are crazy! Do you know what the state of this program was when Marksberry took over? About where Boone is now. Since he arrived, feeder participation has improved, HS level participation has improved, facilities have been upgraded. Furthermore, SK does not tolerate the parent intervention and coach player nepotism issues prevalent in other public programs.

So, somehow what the program was like several years ago somehow justifies playing that joke of a schedule? Right now, they are the top 6a program in NKy (which equates to being the tallest "little person") so go play someone and prove you are more than just a product of shady scheduling. Highlands and Cov Cath both schedule across the river, and they are 4a. Ryle just finished a two year gig with Coleraine. Kudos to those coaches, they scheduled them probably knowing full well what the result would be. At least drop HC and New Cath and schedule the Birds and Colonels. What Marksberry is afraid of is being exposed, and the fine folks of Independence keep buying it hook line and sinker. He took one of his better teams over to UC a couple years ago, and came back with his tail between his legs when Middletown pasted them. Kind of like a B10 team in my eyes, you can look good hanging with your own, but step out and prove yourself once in a while.

The teams on their schedule now we're made following a two win season, three years ago. Yeah, they should have went and scheduled Colerain, Elder, Highlands, and CovCath coming off that two win season, boy that would have helped build the program and get kids interested in playing football at SK. Marksberry was smart about his schedule and the past season shows that it is paying off. They now have a ton of kids coming out to play football and their numbers are exploding on their teams. This past year they were two platooning on their freshman and jv teams because they have unbelievable numbers coming out because of the excitement Marksberry has created in Independence.

Once the finalized realignment comes out and teams begin to make their 2015 schedules, I would then look for them to have a different type of schedule.

Saying that Marksberry has created the buzz in Independence is a joke. Independence's growth and development fell into his lap to make him look good. With the talent that has been at SK the past years, are you telling me Yeagle or Mueller wouldn't have won championships by now? The growth of the middle schools and peewee league's was independent of Marksberry. Please tell me what he has done to make them thrive. Answer this for me, if you are a 6A team, why are you playing 1A and 2A competition. HC and NCC would gladly let SK out of the contract for them to schedule a team more comparable in size. Marksberry should do it, but won't so he can make the record look better. You made my point for me, there is so much talent funneling into SK right now, if they don't win a championship in the next few years, does Marksberry need to go? It will never happen since he only answers to himself. Why would any school let the head coach also be his own boss?

No, Yeagle or Mueller would not have won a 6A championship with thiis roster. Furthermore, Mueller got spanked every time he scheduled Triniity for a pre season game. The talent pool in Jefferson County is simply deeper and broader than what we have here in NKY. How many years did it take Scott County to win a 6A title? They have the IDEAL situation for a public school program. Hell, Male beat X and T twice each and could not win it!

How did Ryle playing Colerain help their team either year? I'd like to see some better teams on SK's schedule but I don't think playing Colerain the past two years would have done much for them to be honest.
