A couple of years ago, my stepson decided he wanted to be perceived as a redneck country boy and put a confederate flag sticker on his truck. As soon as his dad saw it, it was gone quicker than you can say Sweet Home Alabama.

The only good thing about people putting these things on their cars or belt buckles or whatever is that you can see the idiots coming and have the foresight to avoid them.

I know many are upset about Kentucky's "In God We Trust" License plate that is available when you renew your license plates.

Well what do you think of this one?

Georgia License Plate Found Offensive

Looks like Texas and Virginia have similar plates available as well.

I think this is a bad idea but it is completely different than having God crammed down your throat using our own tax dollars.

Each license is paid for by the car's owner, so therefore you are not paying for their beliefs.

It is a tax funded organization that is putting "In God We Trust" on the license plates. Total abuse...

You do not have to buy one. Based on this reasoning, some the art that trashes religion should not be supported by tax dollars or allowed to be shown in museums funded by tax payers.

Don't worry I won't be buying any.

And this has nothing to do with art, this is a government endorsement of God plain and simple.

The principle you brought up is that government stay out of religion. By that same principle government should stay out of religion through art, for or against religion.

Not following your problem with it? The belief in God was a huge part in this country's foundation.

The First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion, impeding the free exercise of religion...

Doesn't say that the Government was to ignore God, just says they aren't to dictate any particular religion or infringe on anyone exercising their religion. The National Motto of the US is "In God We Trust" so having it on the license plate as you despise is no different than it being on money or the President placing his hand on a Bible to be sworn into office.
