One thing the 7th Region and 9th Region have in common. Referees at the Sweet 16 seem not to like them...

Trinity likes the score just where it's at. They are not a team that likes to run.

Szabo does not like his teams to run!

NCC snapped Trinity's 25 game home floor winning streak. Trinity's poor free throw shooting rears its ugly head. Two excellent teams.

Spalding had a chance to tie the game at 42 after T got their second consecutive steal and he got an and one. Missed it. Newcath goes up 3, T turns the ball over with 7.7 left. McDonald misses fromt of double bonus. Makes second to put Newcath up 4. Ivory hits a 3 just before the buzzer. Would've sent the game to OT if Spalding makes that ft.

Both teams missed Ft's but that seemed to be the biggest one for T.

Newcath indeed made a statement on the road tonight. Spalding's length really gave them problems inside but Newcath continued to attack and also shot well from outside, including clutch three's by McDonald and T Moeves throughout the game.

Love the game of Trey Ivory. Kid plays so hard. When he drove the lane and pulled up from 8-12 feet, he was almost automatic.

Newcath did a nice job defensively limiting T to one and done situations.

Breds continue to prove why they are the heavy favorite to get to Rupp and play Sunday night. T made their runs throughout but Newcath always had an answer.

Just got home from the game. Thanks to Walter, who ended up driving me and daddy's little girl down. Although I did "foot the bill" for dinner at DiOrio's......great call on my part, "monstrous" Calzone, twice the size of LaRosa's. :thumb: All right enough of the dining report.

1st quarter - Breds up 8-0, before Trinity finally dents the scoreboard with 1:38 remaining and scores the next 7. Both teams missed multiple "point blank" shots.

2nd quarter - following a couple TERRIBLE passes, which the Breds seem to do, Trinity takes a 3 point lead at 15-12. This would be the last time Trinity would hold the lead, as Tanner Moeves, who didn't play the entire 1st quarter comes in a "drains" a triple and goes strong to the rack in traffic to put the Breds in the lead for good.

3rd quarter - It was all Drew McDonald (7pts.) and Jake Schulte (4pts.). McDonald with a huge "triple" after the Rocks trim a 5 pt. lead to 1, and Schulte with a couple easy buckets after the Breds break the press.

4th quarter - Grant & Tanner Moeves with "huge" treys, as well as, Grant nailing two free throws with under 1:00 to go. Schulte with a one handed tip-in (and 1), and Drew's NBN free throw as the game winner. Although it was "painful" as hell to watch a 40-34 lead with :56.6 disappear in less than 40 seconds because of careless decisions, this needs to be a focal point in the up-coming practices.

The Final sequence-------McDonald fouled with :09.0, misses the 1st one, timeout Trinity, McDonald "swish" the 2nd, Breds up 45-41, Ivory gets the ball across mid court and from about 24 feet "NBN" with about :03.0 and the Breds don't even in bound and let the clock run out....Ballgame.

Spaulding was a non-factor on offense for the most part, but was smooth on 3 or 4 point blank tip-ins and had some "scary" blocks. Ivory was by far "lights out".......WOW. The kid can flat out play, sweet pop and shoot, drive to the rack in traffic, and clutch from distance.

Although the 1st quarter was like watching grass grow, from that point on good game.

NewCath----08-10-11-16---45

Trinity------07-10-09-18---44

McDonald 14, Schulte 11, T. Moeves 8 (2/2 from 3), G. Moeves 7, Weyer 3, Pangallo 2

Oh WOW !!!

Great stuff LB13. Big win for your program.

I think that NCC seems to match up well with Trinity given their length and the fact that both prefer a slower tempo.

Great win for the Breds. I think I predicted they Would win by less than 3.

Nice reports Walter and LB.

What a great win on the road.! Looking forward to tournament time.

NCC heads into the 9th tourney as the favorite. Well earned.

NCC could pull off the double championships this year. Class A & Sweet 16.
