Really great crowd considering the weather. Games had a regional tournament feel atmosphere. Student sections were great. Gate price was fair. Good concession food. I believe last night was a win for everyone. Players got to play in front of a great crowd on a college floor. Fans had plenty of room for comfortable seating, and plenty of parking. And I would say NKU made some money also. My guess is that was a larger crowd than they have had there all season for any the girls or boys NKU teams. I personally would love to see 4 or 5 of these Friday night double headers set up next year with top ranked teams. My son and I really enjoyed ourselves last night.

I thought there was a ncaa div 1 ruling stating that high school games (except postseason) are not allowed on campus. Were these games exempt? NKU is Div 1. I might of heard the rule wrong.

No way in the world Cooper "beats them easy"

Based on your posting history, friend, here is a thought. Why don't you simply start an independent anti-Holmes thread and get it out of your system?

I made it up to the game last night. First time seeing NCC. They are big! Good team. I thought the referees were horrible last night. That didn't decide the game but if I was Holme's coach I would have been upset myself. As for the T on the Holmes player, he may have deserved a T, but it's high school kid and we have a bunch of "adults" criticizing a HS kid. And calling him out by name. I wonder what people would say about some of you all in HS if there was a forum like this then? A kid was playing hard and lost his cool cause he was frustrated with himself. I think it's ridiculous to keep putting his name out here like that. If this was a court case that would be illegal.

I agree about naming the player, but if you follow the thread from the beginning it was Holmes fans who brought the subject up in the first place. It should have never been mentioned, but if the homers are going to complain it opens the door for the every one else. Enough has been said about it. Let it go, it is detracting from the game.

he used profanity, the big one ! you could hear it if you were anywhere near him

Newcath was impressive tonight and showed why they are the best team in the region...plain and simple.

Holmes settled for too many jumpers which led to long rebounds and easy points in transition for the Breds, highlighted by a Drew McDonald dunk. Holmes should've attacked more. When they got the ball in the middle of Newcath's zone at the foul line they had success going to the rim or getting an open look (which they weren't knocking down). Newcath tried to guard Holmes m2m and got down 10-5 early. When they switched to the zone, Holmes offense struggled.

Pangallo's 8 straight killed any Holmes momentum. Newcath had an answer at all times whether it be offensively or defensively.

INewcath is so complete at every position. You really have to defend all 5 on the floor at all times.

I will finish with saying that McClendon's T was absolutely Oscar Mayer Bologna. Going for a loose ball, grabs it and tries to throw it back in bounds but loses it. Grabs it and smacks it with his off hand and he gets T'd up? Chappie was quick with it. Unless he cussed, I see no reason for him to get a T for smacking the ball out of frustration.

He yelled the one word no referee will let slip. Everyone sitting court side heard it!

McClendon played a very good game last night, but he himself brought the negativity upon him. He is in high school and by now should know he cannot get by with cursing on the court definitely right in front of a ref. I agree the refs were bad but they were bad for both teams not just one sided. Honestly, in this match up the best team won and that's what this discussion should get back to, the game not the player.
