Just a guess, but I think the it might be Walter's response to the game.

I think we both might be right. :)

Officials was just themselves, terrible as ever. But don't think the Dawgs could have won anyway.

The refs let the bigs play. NewCath going to the 2-3 was a great move. NewCath had 3 different offensive players take over at critical times. That is a MAJOR asset. I really like how Pangallo played this game. Once Moeves settled down he let him handle the ball in the 2nd quarter. Moe es won his one-on-one matchups to close out the half. Zack came out and scored like 9 pts to open the 3rd. Really put a dagger in the game. He kept with it and exploited his chances. For Holmes, they just didn't have the bodies down low and the refs let them play. I don't get why they didn't attack the middle of the zone in the 2nd quarter. They had a lot of success getting a good shot or dumping it down to the baseline. Also thought Bolden gave up on the 3 ball too early against the zone. He had to shoot them out of it. May have had to do w the slow rotation and lack of movement against it. Either way, NewCath is an incredible team. Great ball movement, smart play, and great length.

Holmes did try to play with 6 players at one point but got caught. Ncc bigs too much inside and the guards knocked down enough outside shots to keep a comfortable lead throughout the second half.

Holmes had no answer down low.

Grant Moeves showed he is no slouch

Pangallo was on fire as usual.

Weyer awesome going to the hole, no denying him.

Schulte altered many shots, and had several blocks.

Bolden was on fire in the 1st half, but was stymied in the 2nd.

Chames was a non factor for most of the night, but does a great job on the offensive glass.

McClendon looked good early with a couple of deep trey's, but after the "T" nothing.

Breds with quite a few turnovers on really dumb passing.

Like I said in the prediction thread, these Thoroughbreds can run the floor. :ylsuper:

Took me longer to get out of the BOK parking lot than it did to get home, roads were snow covered, but ZERO problem driving at all.

Very nice crowd for both games, curious on the exact total.

And a BIG TIP OF THE HAT to Mark Werhy and the CovCath radio crew sticking around to do the NewCath/Holmes game, class move fellas. :ylsuper:

Wow - no mention of McDonald's game?

S/O to Mac Franzen for a great game!!!

Newcath was impressive tonight and showed why they are the best team in the region...plain and simple.

Holmes settled for too many jumpers which led to long rebounds and easy points in transition for the Breds, highlighted by a Drew McDonald dunk. Holmes should've attacked more. When they got the ball in the middle of Newcath's zone at the foul line they had success going to the rim or getting an open look (which they weren't knocking down). Newcath tried to guard Holmes m2m and got down 10-5 early. When they switched to the zone, Holmes offense struggled.

Pangallo's 8 straight killed any Holmes momentum. Newcath had an answer at all times whether it be offensively or defensively.

INewcath is so complete at every position. You really have to defend all 5 on the floor at all times.

I will finish with saying that McClendon's T was absolutely Oscar Mayer Bologna. Going for a loose ball, grabs it and tries to throw it back in bounds but loses it. Grabs it and smacks it with his off hand and he gets T'd up? Chappie was quick with it. Unless he cussed, I see no reason for him to get a T for smacking the ball out of frustration.

McDonald did what he wanted tonight. Simply too big and strong for Holmes to defend him on the floor and around the rim. Really played well at both ends.

My apologies, I've got 7 freshman girls here in my basement distracting me with far too much freshmen "drama talk". :isurrender:

McDonald did what he wanted on the floor tonight, no one could stop him. :ylsuper:

Franzen provided some really valuable minutes, and his basket on the drive to the rack was nice. :thumb:

And....McDonald did a little bit of everything and even threw one down as he ran the floor! WTH LB13, he even led the Breds in scoring...show the kid some love!

Franzen provided some very valuable minutes! Great job Mac and all the Breds!

Mac played well with Weyer in foul trouble. A lot is made of Newcath's lack of depth but they proved tonight it isn't as big of an issue as some of us have made it out to be.

McClendon showed his frustration...unfortunately it was by dropping an expletive right in front of Chappie...thus the Quick T.

Tanner Moeves was the biggest "cheerleader" on the NewCath bench tonight, especially when his brother would hit a trey or drive to the rack. :ylsuper:

I'm told after pregame warm-ups, Tanner told Coach Dawn that he was not 100% so it would be best if he didn't play. Tough call but respect him for it, especially in a game with this much hype.

He dropped an expletive, but not at Charlie. Charlie's old butt needs to retire anyway.
