And....McDonald did a little bit of everything and even threw one down as he ran the floor! WTH LB13, he even led the Breds in scoring...show the kid some love!

Newcath was impressive tonight and showed why they are the best team in the region...plain and simple.

 

Holmes settled for too many jumpers which led to long rebounds and easy points in transition for the Breds, highlighted by a Drew McDonald dunk. Holmes should've attacked more. When they got the ball in the middle of Newcath's zone at the foul line they had success going to the rim or getting an open look (which they weren't knocking down). Newcath tried to guard Holmes m2m and got down 10-5 early. When they switched to the zone, Holmes offense struggled.

 

Pangallo's 8 straight killed any Holmes momentum. Newcath had an answer at all times whether it be offensively or defensively.

 

INewcath is so complete at every position. You really have to defend all 5 on the floor at all times.

 

I will finish with saying that McClendon's T was absolutely Oscar Mayer Bologna. Going for a loose ball, grabs it and tries to throw it back in bounds but loses it. Grabs it and smacks it with his off hand and he gets T'd up? Chappie was quick with it. Unless he cussed, I see no reason for him to get a T for smacking the ball out of frustration.

He cussed inthe worst way. One word.

Not surprised by this at all. The Breds are the class of the region. Just way too much size and excellent guard play. Congrats. I believe it will be an upset if they don't win the region. CCH is probably the only team that can challenge. Holmes is very good, but Bolden cannot do this by himself.

He dropped an expletive, but not at Charlie. Charlie's old butt needs to retire anyway.

 

There's no place in high school athletics for the expletive that was used, regardless of where they're directed. No choice but to call a T there.

Doesn't have to be diricted AT an official. You don't use that kind of language on the floor and not get T'd up.

It was loud and clear where I was sitting. He did try apologizing immediately, before the ref even T'ed him up.

I was not in attendance tonight, has the cream rose to the top with Ncc and Cch? Are their any players ala Cooper or ???

The complexion changed once NCC went to the zone.

I think they were up one and Holmes had a turnover and a missed layup and lead went to 5 or 6, forcing a timeout, then afterwards they come out of timeout with 6 players and 2 free throws, and a basket off the ensuing possession and the game is at 9 or 10 points.

Holmes made a run to get it to 8 but McClendon's technical erased any last chance for Holmes.

NCC is just too big and too balanced and in my opinion are a legit threat to win state.

If they don't win the region it will be an upset. CovCath may have the best shot because I think they have a little more balanced scoring than what Holmes can offer up.

Coach Booher got a technical tonight and it was aimed at the short blonde haired official who he had a beef with all night.

Impressive crowd considering the conditions and it was nice to see the CovCath radio crew stay around for the broadcast and see their assistant coach getting all of NCC's play calls as he did the color commentary.

I didn't hear what he said so I didn't know why he got T'd up. If he said that, then yea Chappie made the right call. Refs will let you get away with cuss words here and there but not that one.
