KSR’s Statement

By Matt Jones on ©1:15 pm Posted in Main

I am aware of the lawsuit filed against KSR based on photos used on this site 3-5 years ago. We disagree with the allegations in the complaint for a variety of reasons and will defend them accordingly. KSR uses photos on its site based on a variety of sources, including third party agreements. We hope to move past this quickly and focus on our UK sports coverage in the most ridiculous manner possible. Either way, we thank all the media outlets who have decided to cover this issue with vigor for finally acknowledging the existence of KSR and we hope they will thank us in return for the clicks that they sought out in the process.

Jones is making some Jack now, I don't think this will bother him too much. Settle and move on...

The problem is they do this with tons of photos.

With him being a lawyer, I'd expect he'd know what he's legally allowed and not allowed to do with regards to photos, but who knows...

Jones Sued for Use of Photos

This could get interesting.

How many are ones KSR put up and how many are ones others post to their site, much like we do on BGP daily?

I'm not sure, but I know there's been an ongoing feud with the Herald-Leader over KSR's use of their photos.

They've used about 50 of my pictures over the years without permission. I'm not going to sue them or anything but just saying. I personally have no problem with anyone using any of my stuff. I would appreciate credit, which KSR gives me at least half the time.

It would absolutely bother me. If they don't give credit where it's due, they are essentially taking credit for the work. That's not right.

When you're a jerk to everyone and aren't crystal clean, stuff like this happens.

Agreed.

The absolute minimum is to credit you, otherwise it's stealing, pure and simple. You should send him an invoice.

There have been several times that I've found my pictures and videos on there with no credit. When they do give credit, they often say HT: @awireman with no link or just say HT: Anthony Wireman with no link.

I've never made a big deal out of it. I honestly have nothing against Matt or KSR. But credit would be nice.

Edit.
