Schedule looks grueling as they will definitely be battle tested by the time Districts roll around.

Nice to hear Ernie Liggett has joined the staff as well. If he coaches first base will he give the runners his signature hop and basketball travel signal to make the turn? :lol2:

Ernie Liggett Sr. is as fine a "baseball man" as there ever was. Great hire. Obviously he was around the program a lot when his grandson's played recently and I'm sure he is proud to wear the uniform and dish out his expertise....

Birds in a scrimmage today at HP against McNick. Quite a few umps making their debut. See some new faces wearing umpire black today.

Beautiful day at Highland Park and a nice crowd this afternoon for a 10 inning scrimmage with McNick. Birds won 14-4. Todd Ramey leads the team with 3 doubles. All 10 hurlers threw for the Birds. Good to see JR Jacob Noe back on the mound after missing his sophomore season. Birds open up at Boone County Wednesday.
