I liked what I saw of Jones the other day although you could tell it was early in the season. He does have a nice breaking ball but he was also hit pretty good too. I don't think he had a K in the 4 innings pitched. He will be fine this year and will keep getting better.

 

I think the issue with Highlands and a concern has to be their bats. They are 2-0 to start the season which is great, but I thought I heard Boone out hit them in that first game and I know Cooper out hit them 11-4 in the 4-3 win on Saturday.

 

They definitely have some kids with some good power, but you can't win a lot of games with 4 hits a game. I think they will get better, too good not to improve that area. Also as I said, can't be too upset with starting the season at 2-0 against 2 pretty good teams.

 

Highlands gets their bats going and with their very solid defense, well I can see them being a tough win in their district this year.

 

HHS out hit Boone 8-1 in the opener last Friday. Pitching depth this season will certainly help keep the Birds in a lot of games if the bats aren't working. Ramey has been clutch in the 1st 2 games.

I really liked what I saw of Ramey. That kid has some nice power.

 

I must of been dyslectic on the Boone Highlands game, thought I heard someone say Boone out hit HHS which did surprise me when I heard it.

 

Highlands Defense is really really solid and when they get their starting SS back full time they will be even better. They made a great catch in right field and made another big defenisve stop to end the inning when Cooper had bases loaded and (makes me too stressed thinking about it lol) when my son hit a rocket line drive what we thought was over the 3rd basemen's head which would of scored a couple more runs to make it at the time 5-0 in Coopers favor but the 3rd basemen reached up and snagged it for the 3rd out.

 

Dang HHS defense lol.
