January 14, 201412 yr I went to school at Murray State and lived in Murray about 5 1/2 years. I always said it was a great town and if circumstances were to take me back there to live I wouldn't hesitate. Danville and Bardstown I know are much better known up around this way, but many people in this state just really don't know how great an area Murray really is.
January 14, 201412 yr Author Wow I live in the no. 2 small town in America? I think I know how to make it number one!
January 14, 201412 yr I thought Bardstown was #1 on that list? I was thinking it was somewhere in Texas. Most of these places received some kind of designation along with their top 10 ranking, so that is probably what you are thinking of. Murray was rated as the #1 Friendliest Small Town in America. This list is actually a year old. They recently awarded the newest small towns at a convention. Murray lost out on the friendliest designation to a town in Illinois or Indiana. Still pretty cool.

Thanks in no small part, I'm sure, to my continuing residence in the Bourbon City.
