January 13, 201412 yr Peyton Manning's future beyond this season will be determined by the results of an offseason exam on his surgically repaired neck, sources familiar with the star quarterback's mindset told ESPN Senior NFL Insider Chris Mortensen. Despite setting NFL single-season records for passing yards and touchdowns in 2013 with the Denver Broncos, Manning will undergo the physical exam in March, as mandated by his contract, the sources told Mortensen. If the exam reveals that his neck is stable, Manning plans to return to the Broncos in 2014, regardless of how Denver fares this postseason, according to sources. But if there is an increased risk of injury, Manning will be forced to decide whether to retire, sources said. January 13, 201412 yr Hate to hear this. Hope he can continue to play. But all good things must come to an end; just hope it's not soon.
January 13, 201412 yr Even more reason to root for him getting that second Super Bowl victory. I'd definitely cheer him on if SF beats Seattle.
January 13, 201412 yr Hate for any player, especially one of his caliber, not to be able to go out on his own terms.
January 13, 201412 yr Even more reason to root for him getting that second Super Bowl victory. Or not. Yeah, I'm sticking with not.
January 13, 201412 yr Never understood the disdain for Peyton. Guy has been about as good as anyone throughout his career, doesn't enter the news for the wrong reasons, etc. Seems it's more jealousy than hate. :lol2:

January 13, 201412 yr Nothing could ever make me root for him. Ever. Why? I'll guess its his love for the Patriots. I however thoroughly enjoy watching Peyton Manning and will cheer for him all day, as long as they aren't playing the Bengals.
January 13, 201412 yr What reason do I have to be jealous of him? No clue, that's what I was wondering as well. But with that same token, what reason do you have to hate him (probably as a player more so than as a person).
January 13, 201412 yr I'm not a huge Peyton fan, but would be deranged not to agree that he's got to be considered in the conversation as best ever.

I used to have a strong disdain for Manning. His personality used to always rub me the wrong way. Over time though I started to like Manning and he is must watch television. I think it all turned around with his SNL appearance for me. :lol2:Dude is hilarious.
