March 31, 201511 yr Homemade chicken stir fry. A couple of chicken breasts, cut up and cooked with sesame oil and a handful of peanuts. Once the chicken started to cook through, I lowered the temp and added in a little rice vinegar, some low sodium soy sauce, a couple dollops of plum sauce, and tablespoon of Asian chili paste, and a touch of fish sauce. Finished up by turning back to high heat and adding in stir-fry veggies. Served everything over some basmati rice. Hits the spot every time.

I'll have to try that, without the rice, though. I can use cashews in stead of peanuts, yes?
March 31, 201511 yr They are hard to describe and have a unique taste. I buy them in a bottle and they are somewhat like an olive to an artichoke. They come indifferent sizes and are roundish in shape, dark color and about the size of a pea. That probably doesn't help because they really are unique. I love them. Very good with seafood and chicken. Sometimes they are used in sauces.

March 31, 201511 yr Definitely. And you can use most any jelly if you don't want to buy plum sauce. It's really interesting if you use orange marmalade, also. I will probably try it without any sweet sauce or jelly. Can't have the processed sugar. It still sounds good minus those ingredients.
March 31, 201511 yr ...I've never had capers before. Not sure what they are, or what they taste like. We use them in Italian dishes like Puttanesca all the time. Also with salmon.
