April 4, 201511 yr Salmon topped with lump crab, salad, and risotto. That sounds awesome!!! Tonight we just had appetizers before the game. Fried chicken, lobster brochette, potato skins, shrimp cocktail and cheese sticks.
April 6, 201511 yr I have been to that one and the one in Shelbyville. Both are good. I had the filet and it was good and Ms Slick had the pork chops and she said they were awesome!
April 6, 201511 yr MrsC and I are in Barcelona this week. Had a 3 course today. 1st - Ham, cheese, & fruit 2nd - Seafood Paella for two 3rd - Chocolate gelato with fresh strawberries & chocolate sauce. The paella had langastino lobsters, jumbo shrimp, mussels, cherry stone clams, squid, crab, and one item that I didn't recognize, but liked.
April 6, 201511 yr Cooked some Country Style Ribs over the weekend. Made three different kinds: KY BBQ sauce Caribbean Jerk Rub Sweet Mesquite Rub (my favorite)
April 6, 201511 yr Saturday we made ham, baked chicken, chicken wings, coleslaw, potato salad, green beans, whole kernel corn, deviled eggs, a veggie plate, cheese ball, and banana pudding. Friends and family brought sweet potatoes, dressing, dinner rolls, cakes, and various other desserts. I ate ham, chicken, deviled eggs, green beans, and a little corn.
April 6, 201511 yr Sunday brunch at the Safety Harbor Spa. I can't list all of the stuff they had, but I ate all three meals for the day and can list what I partook in. On the first trip, I got scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, sausage links, and an omelet with tomatoes, onion, and cheese. Second trip was chilled shrimp, raw oysters, smoked salmon, grouper Florentine, and green beans. The last trip through the buffet area I got ham, beef fillets in mushroom sauce, chicken breasts and asparagus in a caper and white wine sauce, and mixed salad vegetables. While the food was superb, I do not recommend the place on a holiday weekend. It's over priced and over booked. Last night I had a smoothie made from a fruit tray brought by someone who came to eat with us Saturday night.
April 6, 201511 yr Had some ham and great sides at stop 1 yesterday. Stop 2 had some deep fried turkey, ham, greenbean casserole, hashbrown casserole, and corn. Having some leftover fried turkey for lunch today, and have a buffalo chicken chili in the crockpot for tonight.
April 6, 201511 yr Yesterday for Easter I baked a Prime Rib. Used the closed door method. Perfect med. rare. With it we had freezer corn, broccoli with cheese sauce and snow peas. Tonight the men are having pasta with shrimp and bread sticks. I don't eat pasta. I am having a spinach salad with some Prime Rib I had left from yesterday. For dessert I am making a strawberry pie.
April 6, 201511 yr Learning my way around here. Apparently Barcelona was originally a part of the country formerly known as Catalonia. The people here, concider themselves to be Catalan not Spanish. So for dinner tonight we had Fideuada. This is the Catalan version of paella. They do not use rice, they use a very thin pasta similar to vermicelli. Hard to say which is better, as both were excellent, but as the saying goes... ... When in Catalonia.
