December 30, 201312 yr If Rick wants him back he will be back bottom line. Rick is the higher authority and final decision maker. Ricks finally given up on him at least for now. If you think Pitino can overrule Jurich, you are wrong.
December 30, 201312 yr If you think Pitino can overrule Jurich' date=' you are wrong.[/quote'] Jurich controls the media and public relations not the coaches. Rick and Charlie get what they want.
December 30, 201312 yr Jurich controls the media and public relations not the coaches. Rick and Charlie get what they want. Jurich is a VP at UofL and the fans are sure he walks on water. There is not a more powerful AD in the country. You're wrong on this one, you should just let it go.

December 30, 201312 yr Of Athletics. They created the position for him. So is it merely a title they gave him so they could pay him more than an AD?
December 30, 201312 yr So is it merely a title they gave him so they could pay him more than an AD? Is there some sort of state law that puts a cap on AD pay? They created a position to better reflect his place in the University's structure. Jurich's work has done as much for the University as that of any other individual; likely more. You know why?

Jurich's work has done as much for the University as that of any other individual; likely more. That was the question I was trying to ask. I was trying to figure out the point of giving him a VP title. Didn't know if he had more responsibilities than other AD's.
December 30, 201312 yr That was the question I was trying to ask. I was trying to figure out the point of giving him a VP title. Didn't know if he had more responsibilities than other AD's. Happens at a lot of schools. Dayton's AD is also a university Vice President.
December 30, 201312 yr This is dumb. I'll be over here watching the other school I have a degree from get beat by Duquesne or somebody. Wake me up for the Memphis game.
December 30, 201312 yr I don't rejoice in someone's downfall when it comes to something like this, but I also acknowledge that Chane made his own bed here. He was given multiple opportunities & has repeatedly wasted them. I really do hope he grows up & makes something of himself.

He was given multiple opportunities & has repeatedly wasted them. I really do hope he grows up & makes something of himself. Kind of how I see it. I doubt we will ever know how many chances he truly got and for what violations. Chane was doubtful to have a career in the NBA. However, he could have been a very special 4 year player at UL. Someone the fans really admired and spoke highly of long after his playing days were over. If I were a UL fan, all that would be lost in my eyes. Just an addict of some kind who embarrassed the university and let his teammates down.
December 30, 201312 yr So, what is it, anyway? This is fourth paragraph down in the Courier-Journal's story: “Unfortunately (2013) is ending on a bad note for us and me personally as Chane Behanan has been dismissed by the university from our basketball team,” Pitino said. “We lost a really terrific young man in many respects. Between the lines, he gave great effort and was a great teammate, a wonderful young guy to be around. Away from the lines, he did not do the right things over and over and over.” Pitino said he was informed of the news that the university was dismissing Behanan on Sunday night. Pitino said Behanan saw it coming. But this comes later on in the story: Pitino also said Behanan is a good student in fine academic standing. He can remain in the dormitories with the basketball team as long as he chooses to remain in school. Wait, Rick. I thought the university has kicked him out? How could he have this option if it was the university kicking him out? As is usually the case with Ricky, we're not getting the full story.
