NFL admits blown call against Chargers on Chiefs FG attempt

Featured Replies

Chargers should have been flagged for an illegal formation (having 7 lined up on one side) on Chiefs GW FG attempt in the 4th quarter.

Poor Steelers.......................:whistling:

Steelers hosed 2000 miles away from their game!

This what is called karma. From Mike Tomlin's antics on the sideline against the Ravens, to the officials starting the clock last week in their game against the Packers...justice has been served...and all is right with the world. :lol2:

I personnaly love it, althoughit's still not even in my book, the official screwing the seahawks iiin 2005 will never even the playing field as far as the steelers getting the ultimate benefit from bad or non calls.

But its still awesome to know the Steelers go screwed out of the pos season.

No big deal, it only cost someone a playoff berth.

Nothing like officials determining the outcome of games.

Only the players determine the outcome of the game and their season.

Amen. Make the chip shot FG, and this is irrelevant. The penalty didn't cause him to miss the kick.

Except for plays like this when the officials completely miss a key penalty. Or the play earlier this season that affected San Francisco's playoff seeding. Or the play that hosed New England. Etc. Etc.

How did them lining up 7 on one side impact the kick? It didn't.

Or how about the Steelers not starting out the season 0-20 like they did? Didn't they lose to Oakland? Tennessee? Minnesota? Amazing how one game can change the team's fate for the whole season. Just beat one of those mediocre teams and they are in.

San Francisco had 4 losses and New England lost to the Jets and the Dolphins in their 4 losses also.

Did all these teams get hosed in every single loss and did those hosings cost them all of their losses?

It allowed a missed field goal to go in the record books on a play that should have been whistled dead. The penalty would have given them another kick from a closer distance.

Those calls cost those teams exactly one game each and affected the playoffs. Some pretty big blunders by the officials.

Wrong answer but whatever. We've never agreed on the roles of the referee and how they affect the outcome of a game or season. No reason to start agreeing about it now.

I will NEVER blame the outcome of any game, at any sport, at any level. I guarantee that at least once in that game, of any sport, at any level that the players messed up at least once in that game and the players messing up that one time has the same effect as the referee messing up IMO. And anyone who has coached a game, of any sport, at any level KNOWS that the players mess up multiple times in a game, of any sport, at any level.

It will ALWAYS be the player's fault in my eyes. The refs are always unfairly and improperly made the scaepgoat. The players affect the play on the field, court, rink. Not the refs.
