That's what they get for playing like bums the first month and a half of the season. In my parallel universe the whole season matters. Not just what happens in week 17.

 

I don't disagree — they played terrible the first part of the season. But the fact of the matter is the "whole season" isn't one single entity, but a bunch of cause-and-effect outcomes that build upon each other. The Steelers were beset by injuries in the first part of the season and it took them forever to get it going. Even despite all that, they still had a chance until SD kicked the FG in OT.

 

Yeah, a steelers fan.

If this is the best you got then argument over.

 

Whether it's the "best I've got" or not, it doesn't change the fact that because of everything that happened to that point, the missed kick kept the Steelers out. Whether or not they deserved to make it is not the case I'm making. That they were in a position at the end of the regular season to still get into the playoffs, despite how poorly they played all season long, is a miracle. And that everything fell into place on Sunday the way it did to that a single FG miss kept them out is even more improbable.

 

You can say "it shouldn't have ever come to that point," and I would agree. But the fact is, it did.

Sounds like a bitter Giants fan to me.
