Overreaction, IMO.
Yes, but not surprising. Phil stating a Biblical view of homosexuality in Phil's own way which is a little over the top. It is a hot button issue and he will be lambasted for it.

Another network will sign him in a heartbeat.

Could see this coming a mile away the minute his interview with GQ became public...I'm guessing that he could not care less about what people think or if he is on the show.

Another network will sign him in a heartbeat.

Show is still going to be on just without Phil from what I read.

I actually think it's a little hypocritical of A&E for a couple reasons.

They make millions off the Robertsons and a lot of it has to do with the way they live their lives and their beliefs etc. Every show ends in with them gathered for dinner and prayer etc.

Their reasoning for suspending Phil is because his beliefs are not A&E's etc. yet he is simply stating what he believes and A&E who is suppsoedly not prejudice against sexual preference is prejudice against others beliefs on the subject. Doesn't make sense to me. All they have to do is put a disclaimer like other networks do before a show saying they network does not support etc. the beliefs of the show guests etc. or it's content. A simple disclaimer is all theyu need.

I just think A&E is wrong in this move. IF they are that upset then cancel the show, I'm sure another network would love to buy it. Also the fact that just because they don't like Phil's beliefs, they can't tell me that Willie and Jace and Si don't believe the same thing. So if you are suspending a guy for his beliefs, why not suspend the rest of the family? Why? Because A&E wouldn't make money off of them then.

I don't watch Duck Dynasty. Not a fan. I have no beef with gay people and I strongly support gay rights. That being said, I ain't mad at Phil either.

Suspended over an interview in GQ? You kidding me????

You can't have an opinion anymore. Whether it is right or wrong he has the right to state his views

Exactley, political correctness has made this country soft and unbearable to speak your mind anymore.

I cannot believe AE acts like they did not know his or even the family's view on subjects such as this. Could you not tell they are a religious group of people? That in all honesty is the appeal of it all. No drugs, no people sleeping with different people every episode, no violence, and yet people still find a way to get all in an uproar when a religious man takes a stance regarding a hot button issue that reflects his religious values! I honestly cannot believe this is the world we live in nowadays.

Unfortunately it is

They are a private company and have every right to do this. But I'll go ahead and say it was a bad business move. It is there biggest weekday show . Set records. Do they not think a majority of the fan base either thinks like Phil or at the very least already suspected his thoughts on the matter. This will hurt business more than help. They should of let their customers decide through ratings .

I'm so shocked a conservative christian is against homosexuality. Outside of his tongue and cheek comments on human anatomy I didn't think his comments were crazy. He basically said hate the sin and love the sinner. I'm a staunch libertarian when it comes to social issues and I don't care about someone's sexual preference but as such I also don't like the norm of discrimination against religious views on the issue. I personally may not agree with homosexuality. It doesn't affect me anymore than someone with multiple heterosexual partners . I didn't see Phil calling for homosexuality to be illegal. If he did I'd be against him .

But like I said A&E is a private company. Do what you want. Just think its bad business .

I've not seen an episode of this show from the very beginning. I honestly assumed that kind of disclaimer would have been there. Surprised there isn't one.
