Thus concludes Coach Stoops' first year.

Next year 's starting QB took no snaps this year.

I'd say you can chalk year one up as a complete failure. I know he didn't have a lot to work with but no one can look at a 2-10 season and feel it was a positive.

Disagree. No way it was a failure. Ended up as most rational fans expected.

Outside of Western who should they have beaten?

Do you really believe that?

I think PT was sold a bill of goods that will never happen.

You think Phillips is the man?

1 of 3: PT, Phillips, Drew Barker.

We know what we have in the two from this year. You have to be able to throw the ball.

Should I interpret your comment about PT to mean that UK was never really serious about having PT be the starting QB when they were recruiting him?

Now that the season is over, what is the story with PT and UK?

I think that would be a tough question to answer since the UK staff that recruited him is no longer in charge. What Joker Phillips had planned may not be the same as what Stoops is planning.

I hope you're right.

Good luck to Drew if they throw him in the fire that fast.. I still remember Braxton saying he really wanted to redshirt his first year. He isn't gonna be in Hebron anymore.

I absolutely admire this team and coaching staff for not quitting today. That would had been easy just to lay down and get through this game but they continued to play hard. That, playing hard-not quitting- is really the only thing that I was looking for or expecting out of this team, this season and they have done that. I have to say this U.K. Offensive line just may be the worst in the history of organized football. They couldn't block a team from the retirement home :irked:.

Going to take a loooong time to get the all the 1AA/FCS talent that Stoops inherited out and replace it with major college football players. Even longer to recruit, develop team depth which you need, especially in the SEC.

I like Stoops, think that he is the man for the job and that he will build U.K. Football back to respectability. I don't think that U.K. will ever be a consistent contender for the top of the SEC but I do feel that they can be mid level and/or above most every year and even that is going to take years.

"You have to walk before you can run" and " U.K. football hasn't started to crawl yet".

Get more and better players like Stoops is doing, hit the weights and conditioning and work towards Spring practice.

And that's a wrap. This whole season has been about gaining experience and being able to hold onto their recruiting class. We knew it was going to be bad and it was, but that is what you get for hanging on to Joker Phillips an extra year.

Jalen got the bulk of the work at QB because Max can't move and the OL was bad.

In all with the exception of the Georgia game at times, I think they laid it on the line each week.

I just don't think the staff has any confidence in Towles reading defenses. I heard Lorenzen on a pregame show talking about how Towles coming out of Highlands is coming from a passing system where you simply throw it to a spot. No pretreat of the defense, you just heave it to a spot. He feels that the learning curve for Towles has been steep or more steep than other QB's that have come out of Highlands to D-1 schools.

I think the Phillips kid will give them a run a QB for next year. I thought he looked the best of all the QB's at the spring game, definitely threw the best ball.

Hang on to the recruiting class and finish it strong and go into next year looking to make some progress on offense.

It was an ugly season but I think most knew it would be.

Disagree. No way it was a failure. Ended up as most rational fans expected.

Agreed, I picked 3 wins tops. 4 and Stoops should be COY.
