kyvince Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 It's far from a sure thing, but I still say its a 50/50 proposition that Trinity could end up as the 6A state Champs. Their regular season record is 4 -5. If they were to go on and win the State title would they be the first team with a losing (regular season) record to win a state title?
frankdracman23 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Could be. NCC was 5-5 in 2006 before winning State title with 10-5 record.
ThrillVille Cardinal51 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Could be. NCC was 5-5 in 2006 before winning State title with 10-5 record. Yeah I was about to say that I thought NCC had a not so stellar record in the regular season in 2006. Listening to that NCC Championship game in the locker room at PJCS was really entertaining!

Nope, PT just did it recently, 4-6 in regular season then won it all in 2009 over a Terrible bunch of Briar Bunnies Off the top of my head I think Corbin had a losing reg season record and won it all in about 82 or somewhere round that time
Jumper_Dad Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Nope, PT just did it recently, 4-6 in regular season then won it all in 2009 over a Terrible bunch of Briar Bunnies Really? Why the Shot at the Jumpers!!!
Toothpick Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Really? Why the Shot at the Jumpers!!! Not personel, that year they just stunk up the joint to a very average PT

Of course I am getting older and don' . . .. What was the question again? :lol2:
gchs_uk9 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I was thinking Central was 4-6 and won it all a few years back?
Watusi Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Good call. In 2009 Central entered the playoffs at 4-6, but lost in the semifinals to Tilghman and finished 8-6 In 2010 Central entered the playoffs at 4-6 and won the championship over Belfry to finish 9-6

What was the question again? :lol2: I believe you are right, Corbin lost 4 games in 1982 and in their 1980 championship season, I think they lost their first 3 games that year before running the table. This kind of supports the theory that many Redhound fans believe in, playing a tough schedule will make you a better team come playoff time.
Jumper_Dad Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Not personel, that year they just stunk up the joint to a very average PT Not to get into it but you don't have a clue what was happening behind the scenes that game.
gchs_uk9 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Not to get into it but you don't have a clue what was happening behind the scenes that game. I'd love to know as well. I'd seen Somerset twice that season and was impressed with them. Their performance that day made me think they were a JV team.
plantmanky Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Technically now Fairview got to the state title game with an 0-14 record. :walk:
Voice of Reason Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Technically now Fairview got to the state title game with an 0-14 record. :walk: If we are going there, then there is a state champion whose final official record was 2-13.
